The author exposed the influence the children have when they have fast food restaurant
near to the school. This article shows the importance of locating fast food restaurants in places
where children are concentrated and the negative results that this implies because it is easy and
economical for children to consume fast food.
Also, pregnant women who have a fast-food
restaurant within 0.5 miles of their residence are studied, and the results show a 1.6% probability
of gaining over 20 kilos. The results of newborns with cardiovascular diseases due to excessive
consumption of fast-food during pregnancy are also shown.
This article shows important
information for my research because it shows obesity rates and percentages to prove that fast
food is not beneficial for children.

Authors Ashlesha Datar and Nancy Nico express concerns about children's easy
access to junk food in schools. This article talks about childhood obesity and the change
in body mass index in school-age children. The empirical evidence that was carried out in
this article was from elementary school children who measured their BMI each school
year to make a comparison based on the access to junk food that the children had. The
results obtained were negative since the body mass index increased every year.
This
magazine article is important for my research on the negative effects of fast food on
children and to raise awareness among parents to provide healthy foods in schools to
make healthier lunches, as well as to stop buying fast food and prepare meals at home.

Sonya A. Grier’s article provide extent data about how fast food marketing has an
immense influence in children. Grier’s article exposes information of the negativity
result that children have due to the consumption of fast food. Also, Grier mentioned that
marketing in parents may also contribute to children obesity and cardiovascular diseases
that are mostly not reversible, for example, diabetes.
The author gives several
hypotheses of the negative effects of consuming fast food and the diseases that this
causes. Grier cites information from caregivers of 2 to 12-year-old children in medically

underserved communities. This is an article that provides material into my discussion of
the negative effects of fast food on children, and the possible changes that parents may
make to have health children.

This study expresses how convenient fast food is and the growth in demand for it. It is
also mentioned that the main feature is how convenient it is to have fast food nearby.
The article
mentions how positive fast food can be for people who do not have time to cook and for people who lack
monetary resources
.
Examples are shown of why it is important to consume fast food and how
cheap it is. It is also mentioned that fast food companies benefit from the high percentage of fast-
food consumption, which helps generate more jobs.
This article is very important for my
research because it helps me make a comparison about fast food consumption and shows why it
is against my opinion.

In this experiment, the author expresses the importance of exposing the children to
healthy food and nutrition information. This research talks about the value of having healthy
choices on the menu with items that attract children's attention and encourage them to eat healthy
food
.
Stutts did an experiment with 236 children, ages 6 to 11, where they were exposed to
nutritional information and the heart symbol on menus to see if this influenced the choices the
children made. This study is of great help in improving the way children eat today and making a

is displayed on menus and the difference that should exist between healthy food and junk food.
