Provide a one paragraph answer to each of the following questions:
1.
How will you use your students' TELPAS results to guide your expectations for student
oral participation in class?
Each student who takes the TELPAS exam receives a report on their level of study.
The levels of study can be categorized into four stages: beginner, intermediate, advance,
and higher advanced. These results demonstrate the progress they make each year.
Based on these results we will be able to see where the students need more help to
achieve their goal.
2.
Using the ELPS, what could your learning goals be for an Intermediate English Language
Learner (EL) to become more proficient in listening and speaking?
All students learn best when they interact with material in multiples ways:
lessons that involve writing, speaking, drawing, and listening, for example give
students four opportunities to deepen their understanding of the work. Also, we
need to know how to differentiate and use multiples modalities.
3.
How would you communicate TELPAS results and ELPS to parents?
I would call the parents and telling them how the student score on both test
TELPAS and ELPS. So that way parents help their children on these learning levels.
4.
How would you assess students' progress on ELPS using TELPAS results?
I would value each domain: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Listening
will determine whether students are able to understand the language and
understand the information provided to them. By speaking, it would escalate
your speaking skills.
