Consider the tenets of the Christian worldview perspective and the high-leverage practices
associated with the instruction. Describe how these high-leverage practices can be used in
instruction to help students reach the standard they are working toward. Include a discussion
about how the application of these practices can create a classroom environment that values all
students and allows them to flourish and reach their fullest potential.
The Christian worldview perspective includes tenets such as empathy, love, and compassion.
Teachers can implement high-leverage practices in the classroom while teaching students to
value each other and encouraging them to reach their fullest potential. According to McLesky et
al. (2017), teachers should seek to fully understand student’s learning needs through a variety of
assessments that are sensitive to the student’s language and culture. Furthermore, these
assessments should be used to understand potential barriers to learning and ways to support the
student (McLesky et al., 2017). Likewise, teachers should model for students what it’s like to
respect and accept each other’s differences. Educators should not tolerate demeaning or negative
comments students make towards one another. McLesky et al. (2017) also suggests that special
education teachers should use instructional practices to help students make the progress needed.
In doing so, the teacher encourages students to be the best version of themselves and teaches
students persistence and perseverance.
