An ideal transformer delivers the same power to the load as is delivered to the primary winding.
Whether the statement is true or false.
Answer to Problem 1TFQ
True
Explanation of Solution
Given:
The given statement is:
Power delivered to the load is equal to the power supplied in case of an ideal transfer.
Calculation:
The transformer is an electromagnetic device which is installed at the substations and is used to step-up and step down the voltage. The voltage is stepped up and down because the losses are less when the voltage value is higher, whereas, the generation and distribution occur at the lower voltage.
The transformers work according to the faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, that is
The losses are zero in the case of ideal transformers. That is why, in the case of ideal transformers, the power delivered to the load, i.e. to the secondary winding is exactly equal to the power supplied at the source, i.e. at the primary winding.
Therefore,
Hence, the power delivered to the load is equal to the power supplied in case of an ideal transfer.
Therefore, the given statement is true.
