I have had the opportunity to get to know Zach St. Clair this year during my student teaching at Eisenhower High School. I have Zach in Honors Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry. Zach is a remarkable student that balances academic with extracurricular activities and volunteer work while still holding down a job. Mr. St. Clair is a student that doesn’t find everything come easily to him and has to work for it. At a point in the semester Zach had fallen behind due to his heavy work load and missing an extended period of time due to an illness. Mr. St. Clair worked as hard as anyone at Eisenhower and was able to get his grade from a C to the A he currently holds in a matter of weeks contributing to his 3.56 GPA over his four years.
Zach’s hard work doesn’t stop at the classroom. He is a very involved student at Eisenhower. His freshman year he immediately started making an impact at EHS when he joined Cross Country and was elected by his peers to be a representative for Student Council. Zach was active in Student Council from Freshman year all the way through Junior year and excelled as a leader of his peers. He was selected to be a member of National Honors

Clair is a hard working student inside an outside the classroom. So what? There are a ton of students at Eisenhower High School just like that. What separates Zach? Well, Zach is a student unlike many others. His smile is infectious and has never caused a problem in class. He has an outstanding sense of humor and can laugh at himself, and I think that is a personality trait that is extremely valuable. He takes criticism well and is always working to better himself. Zach is the type of person you want at your school, at your job, and is more than deserving of this scholarship. There is no student that comes to mind that represents what Eisenhower High School stands for than Zach St. Clair. He is an outstanding young man and is a true asset to this
In addition to tutoring and mentoring the children in the community, Jacelyn also holds the position as Volunteer and Outreach Coordination, requiring her recruit, organize, and oversee student volunteers in the project. In addition, due to financial constraints in her family, Jacelyn also has an off-campus job that requires her to work many late nights and weekends. This ability to manage two jobs, a research assistant position, and consistent participation in community service while maintaining her exceptional GPA at an academically rigorous institution like UCLA demonstrates her admirable character, work ethic, and time management, valuable skills found in few students.
Luke has taken initiative and emerge as a leader during difficult times. He has consolidated debt of our fraternity, higher than $10,000 through enforcing rules and remaining disciplined. Many times, for the betterment of the organization, Luke has made the unpopular decision. He has removed members from our fraternity that impeded our success. As a leader, he is able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of his subordinates and use them to create successful
Dustin Dawson was born in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. He was born into a family of five, with two older brothers one being three years older than him, and the other seven years older. Dustin claims that he is the tallest, strongest and most intelligent of the three brothers.
Along with being a diligent student who has been enrolled in 11 Advanced Placement classes, I have also dedicated my time to other causes. For example, I have volunteered at public libraries, Special Olympics events, orphanages for intellectually disabled children, and food pantries. While maintaining a rigorous course load and volunteering, I also work at Kumon. I tutor children to boost their confidences and understanding of concepts vital to their future success. Moreover, I have received membership to The National Honor Society and have been awarded an AP Scholar with Merit Award. My dedication to becoming more culturally aware and five years of enrollment in Spanish classes has allowed me to be inducted into Spanish Honor Society. Within
After observing, communicating with, and analyzing the work of Kayson Maciel-Andrews, I have learned many things about working with advanced students in a low-achieving classroom. At my internship site, we have a very low population of talented and gifted students, less than 2%, and therefore, getting the opportunity to work closely with one of these students was a very unique opportunity for me.
Paul’s stellar intelligence, determination and academic performance are a testament to what he is more than capable of accomplishing. And while taking honors and advanced placements classes at Forest Hills High School
Allison is a sophomore at Seminole High School in Pinellas County. She has never received a grade other than an A and has been on the Dean’s List in school since the third grade. She is currently ranked first in her class (1 out of 506) and carries at 4.64 weighted GPA. To the point, during the 3rd report period she earned a 100% or higher in five of her seven classes, including her AP classes. She is currently taking two AP classes in addition to her other Honors classes and will be taking Dual Enrollment and four AP classes next year as
First off, one characteristic that is important to both this organization and myself is scholarship. Although, it may seem easy to make and maintain passing grades, it is the added dedication that I possess that I hope you’ll be able to see. For example, during my freshman year of high school I was able to have a GPA of 3.8. Though most people would be proud of having this GPA I was not, I knew that I could do better and I was determined to make sure that I did. Therefore,
He is, in fact, the school’s valedictorian ( in a class of 436 graduating seniors) and has an astonishing 104.1 cumulative GPA. This demonstrates the passion that Luis possesses for learning new information and educate himself. He is also highly capable of multitasking and producing favorable results despite deadlines pressure. Even though most students at our school only take 2-3 AP exams in their junior year, it was Luis’s motivation and hard work that allowed him to take 8 exams (earning only 5s and 4s). He was, in fact, the only 5 in my AP Statistics class last year. Luis truly pushed himself to be the best he can be and live up to his potential. I was surprised when he came to my room one day after school and asked me if he could skip Calculus AB. Although this was unheard of in our school, I was excited to have Luis as a student an extra year. This simple episode showed me that Luis was willing to fight the hardest challenges he could encounter. Even though he was a year behind his classmates, he continued performing his best and was eventually able to catch up with the other
Alana Bradley has been an exceptional student at Rocky River High School for the past four years. She has maintained a 3.75 grade average during this time. In addition to being on the Dean’s list, Alana is also a member of Rho Kappa Honor Society and the National Honor Society. This high level of academic performance also includes being accepted into the National Technical Honor Society and the Nation Society of High School Scholars. Alana is a very hard worker, and she possesses a unique ability to work well with others.
As seen through her high school transcript, Troytoria is an intelligent and focused student. What you are not able to view through her academic transcript is her extensive extracurricular and volunteer activities that have made her into the student she is today. Troytoria has not only excelled academically but also mentally and socially. She has taken out a great amount of time to dedicate to community service opportunities to assist her immediate community. She has done so through community-outreach programs associated with the Dual-Degree program at Georgia State University. She is also an impressive worker at her part time job at Taco Bell, where she serves as a cashier several hours during the week. Her volunteer opportunities through one
Jarren Calizo is currently a freshman at Waipahu High School and is also enrolled as a Early College student. He first registered in the EC program (LCC) this Spring 2016 semester as an Olympian and chose to immediately take 3 classes, which are Speech 151, Music 107 and Religion 207. Jarren employs top-of-the-line expectations for himself in his future, like maintaining his straight A’s in both HS and EC, becoming a future Valedictorian, earning scholarships and getting accepted into an outstanding university in the mainland. His academic drive is inspired by his favorite biblical verse “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). Jarren is really involved in his school’s extracurricular clubs, which his two
I have began noticing distinct mood changes in Branson Reeve. On his bad days, he results to isolating himself in his room and playing video games. On his happier days, he is social and engages with the family. Throughout this year, I have discovered that he is developed a conventional level of moral thinking. He has been extremely concerned on what is "fair" and "not fair" among specific people and incidents. During this time, I guide him in a positive direction by informing him of my morals and beliefs. At the end of the year, his final progress report arrived, which showed all "A's" and "B's". Branson Reeve's teachers recommended that he takes advanced math and science his eighth grade year. In addition, his art teacher also commented that he has a knack for creativity. He has shown to be effective at managing his time and worked well independently. He is on track and prepared to be an eighth grader. Branson Reeve and his friends had been compiling multiple plans and ideas for their summer. However, they quickly ran out of those plans and became bored. I offered several fun suggestions, but he rejected them
I am pleased to recommend Ethan Richman for admission into your Class of 2020. As his guidance counselor of seven years and parent of sixteen years, I have watched him develop academically and personally over the years. Upon reflection, Ethan's experiences appear to go beyond the typical high school student experience for both our district and region. His academic, musical and personal accomplishments have all shown this to be true as evidenced by his resume. While many of his experiences over the years have not been documented, a few have been captured in an attempt to show some of his intellectual curiosity and passion in multiple areas of his interest. Although Ethan is known to be fun, humorous, and quite genuine, his ability to create and effect change while demanding a high level of integrity from whatever program he is involved in is quite admirable.
I hope you are having a good day. I am emailing because I have Matthew Snyder in Algebra and his grade is starting to fall very fast. Matthew is a very bright student; however, recently he has been refusing to come in to class. Today, like other days, Matthew decided he would just sit in the hallway during class. On the days that he chooses to come to class he becomes a distraction to his peers. His current grade is a 61% D- in the class. My conversations with him about what happens if he fails seem to be going no where. So I'd love to get some advise from you about how to get him motivated and back on track. Its not too late for him to bring his grade up, but if he fails he'll have to retake this class for an entire year next year. Please
