(Graduates of Saint Joseph’s University class of 2020, I, Nicole Schall welcome you here today to this wonderful celebration. It is so nice to see all of your smiling faces together one last time. I would like to thank President Reed, the administration, and that crazy professor who almost who almost failed me freshman year for the opportunity to speak here today. The one who almost caused me not to be standing here today. First and foremost, graduates, congratulations on all of your achievements thus far. Parents, professors, friends and family you should be proud of each and every graduate sitting here on St. Mary’s lawn today. Give yourself a round of an applause. (round of applause sound effect) Can you believe it is already graduation? Time really does fly when you’re having fun am I right? I can only speak for myself, but I’m sure many will agree with me that freshman move-in day seems like yesterday. But truth be told you all have grown since freshman move-in day, not just in height, or from the freshman fifteen, you are all smarter, brighter, and ready to take on the world.) Hi Ms.Barks, I am not sure if you remember me ( EAP 121,Winter 2015),just want to tell you I am done with ENG 101 and to thank you for the permit!!! It was very interesting expirience ( Bixby was my teacher),however I passed and moving on.This is my last quarter in Edcc , I am taking summer off and will be attending Shoreline community college this fall.Again,I just wanted to thank you for being supportive of me and allowing me to get closer to my goal!!!. As result of creating and implementing this artifact, I realized that the most effective lesson plans are those which initiate with the final assessment in mind. So, I applied a pre-test at the very beginning of my lessons with every different group I would be teaching to measure a starting point or the amount of pre-existing knowledge on the topics to be taught. Based on this, I planned the instruction to deliver and how to differentiate it.
During our lives, most of us have hated getting up early. Whether we as humans enjoy mornings or not, we’re always looking forward to that unforgettable day. That special is high school graduation for me. Graduation is a ceremony that recognizes students that have excelled through school. Graduation was one of the best days of my life, perhaps even better than the day that I started college. There is no other day like graduation where there comes this feeling of success, achievement, and excitement.
At the very beginning, of when hearing about First Year Experience I was indifferent about going. I knew that if I attended FYE then I would not get my summer after my high school career. Instead, I would graduate high school and then enter school again, but sooner than others. I do wish I had a long summer before entering school again, yet living in the experience now changes my whole outlook of entering college early. There are the good times, bad times, stressful times, and the sad times. One just has to take it all in and try their best to process what happens. I, myself, has done that, and still am doing, since starting the summer program. And with every decision I make, they’re either a benefit or a toll on my body both physically and mentally.
Despite the fact, that some parents don 't want their children to fail in their education, failure is something that students should be able to value and parents should consider this a time of opportunity to learn from their mistake because my parents gave me the opportunity to fail and later on in life I achieved success from my fail and my personal experience as well as sherry connects with how failure improved education. For example in her essay, “ In Praise of the F word”, she states how countless students do not have the skills they need to succeed and how diplomas for students don’t value anything. Furthermore, she in the essay it also give a personal experiences about her son and how she as a parent had to make a decision. Therefore, what happened with her son also happened my mother with me. However, I was a nine year old and my parents had to decide if I should funk the second grade or pass. As a result, this had to be a fail or a success which sherry argues that educators and parents should not treat the word Failure as taboo with students but should treat it as a learning experience (559-601) . Correspondingly, educators and parents need to understand that the word “failure” in relation to education is tolerable and it should approved in the 2015.
Hello, we would like to welcome and thank all of you for being here with us tonight to celebrate our high school graduation . It truly is an honor to be surrounded by so many significant people who have impacted our lives immensely throughout our highschool years. We would like to thank the wonderful people here tonight that we have the privilege to call our parents. Whether you are a mother a father, grandma or grandpa, or an aunt or an uncle; we are here, graduating today because of all of you.
What is the secret to success? Many people think that you can rely on only on yourself to be accomplished in this life time. However, there are many strategies to utilize on the road to success and the concept of a self-made man has a common misconception. Arnold Schwarzenegger shattered this idea of the self-made man as he presented his speech to the graduating class of Houston University in the spring of 2017. The crowd was powerfully moved by the words that flowed from Arnold’s mouth. Arnold successfully establishes credibility, demonstrates emotion, and uses logic to motivate this graduating class. Throughout this speech Arnolds exceeds in these three categories tremendously.
Congratulations to my fellow graduates and their parents and guardians. The only way out is through and we did it. I am proudly standing here as valedictorian of the first graduating class here at Humanities III. Before I begin, I would like to offer specials thanks to the staff and faculty who have journeyed along with us and kept our heads on straight, especially those who have stuck by us for these past four years.
I welcome all of you today to a special ceremony not meant to celebrate and glorify the victory of one person, or even a group of people, but I welcome you to the commencement of a new chapter in a story of a powerful country, a story that will last for centuries to come, a story that proclaims the prestigiousness of this sovereign state. We are gathered here today, not to squabble about in endless exacerbation, but to unify the country under the common goal of progression towards an enlightened and auspicious future.
College, whether community, private, public, or vocational, encourages a creativity and belief within students, offering the explanation that their futures increase ten-fold just by having a degree. It proves the ability to learn and connect concepts and to think critically and efficiently, skills highly useful in their careers and endeavors. It instills within students, the truth about the world around them and how interactions with staff and peers will guide them for their future encounters. College means opening doors which would normally be inaccessible for a high school graduate because the learning goes beyond the classroom and allows them to connect their studies with real life application. Students are encouraged to apply their passions and studies to gain skills such as independence, networking, critical thinking, and socialization.
During the past three weeks, I have observed three individual students in my 4th grade classroom. All of the learners in the classroom are very intelligent students; however, three students stand out to me on a daily basis for different reasons. ‘Student A’ receives special education services for her reading and writing skills. She works with a para every day to work on her reading and handwriting skills. ‘Student B’ is a gifted learner and participates in an advanced math program that the 4th and 5th grade classes receive, if they are academically eligible. ‘Student C’ is an average student in the classroom, but struggles on a daily basis due to lack of motivation. He does not receive any services, but is redirected by the cooperating teacher and myself.
As an educator, I am preparing to enter a classroom with many different cultural backgrounds. The first artifact that I chose to use to demonstrate my knowledge of Standard 4 of the CDLE endorsement was an interview I conducted as a piece of a presentation given to the class over Foster Care. The student I interviewed for this was a 10th grade student that is currently a part of the foster care system because she is a refugee from Ethiopia. English is her third language. She is actually very proficient at all of her languages, but uses a handheld translator when she reaches a word she does not understand. These words are usually higher level academic vocabulary words. She was married just before leaving Ethiopia and came here to get a better education. The only reason she is able to stay in the foster care system is she is under 21 and currently enrolled in high school. She attends school with 4 other student from her foster home all of whom are in the 10th grade. I was surprised to hear about that struggles she has had directly related to the foster care system. She works full time to buy the things she needs like clothes. Her foster parents provide only food and shelter to the foster children living in their home. This while their natural children are well taken care of and have their own rooms. The girl I conducted the interview with is the highest achieving of the others she lives with. I believe that it is because she chose to leave Ethiopia on her own to better her

Life event experiences directly cause changes in the students’ lifestyles, and consequently, college students’ consumption needs may change (Lee, M., & Mathur., 2001). Graduation is the first momentous event that ever happened to college students. Every enrolled college students will face the role transitions process, which is from a student to an employee, during the graduation period. In other words, job hunting and starting a new career serve as part of the students’ life events. Due to this reason, college students’ shopping adaptations may change due to the experience of graduation and other related life events.
As a new teacher I am fully aware that I will make mistakes, change my mind, copy something wiser from a more experienced teacher and still make more changes. Actually, I plan on it. The same way I want your students to always be evolving and learning, I also hope to do the same. The way that I will assess students may look a little mess for a while, a jumble of notes, tests, conversations and papers. Be glad you don’t live in my desk. But overall, I hope to know my students, to feel them out, to understand how their little minds are working, to figure out where they need help, what they know and how they got there. I want to be a hands-on-teacher with strong conversations, less homework and more learning. Real learning. Deep understanding that they can take with them and use to help them in other areas.
