A tour operator requires a holiday representative to work throughout the summer and winter season to ensure that holiday makers have an enjoyable trip. They are the first point of contact for customers so a holiday representative needs to be prepared to answer question and resolve problems. They usually start the day meeting the excited new arrivals at the airport and overseeing transfers to their accommodation. In each element within this chain has their own specific needed; the producer should take account along with the needs of their consumer. The first level of the chain of distribution is the Principal. Principals are the one who provides the products or service to pass down to the next organisation in the chain of distribution; the principals are the one who produces the products or services. Tour operators are the one who combine or mix all the principals together to pass it down to the Travel Agents which is the next level of the chain of distribution.
Tour operators like Thomson and First Choice merges as one to gain competitive advantage. These two organisations are now owned by TUI Travel they are both targeting different markets because First Choice organisation will focus on younger and more family-orientated customers while Thomson will focus more on the wealthier and empty nested customers. Additionally, empty nested customers are the couples whose children are living on their own and already left home.
Tour operators are mostly the one who design and plan a holidays ahead of time they forecast the holiday and plan them two years before they sell a holiday to Travel agencies. While Travel agencies is more likely on marketing they sell and they promote to make profit according to their negotiation between Tour operators and Travel agencies this will depends how much
Henry Ou, Derrick Kwok, the President and the Vice President of Air & Sea Travel Center also serves as Tour Director of our company who would plan, organize, and conduct short-distance, long-distance travel, tours, and expeditions for individuals and groups. Mr. Ou and Mr. Kwok have experiences of planning and organizing trips, make sure everything runs according to the itinerary and make sure our valued clients safe and enjoy the trip. To be a successful Tour Director, personal skills and qualities are often more important than formal qualification. In memorable trip, our clients expect not only what they are going to visit, eat, and play, but also the excellent “people” skills of our Tour Directors who would bring them happiness, surprises, and make sure that arrangements for the group to run as smoothly and enjoyably as possible since the tourism industry is characterized by high-contact services in which co-creation of clients plays a major role (Grissemann & Stokburger-Sauer, 2012). Joylyn, Ina, and Phoebe are responsible for organizing and setting up the tour by making reservation for hotels, restaurants, cruises, gate tickets, and more. In most of the time, they would make a reservation earlier and deliver special requests to the service provider from the client in order to have availability to everyone in the group and make our client feel that they are valued because we listen and we care.
There are many factors that can affect the growth of tourism in a certain area. This can include the location of the site, how accessible it is, or the amenities that the site has to offer. Tourism trends are ever changing, with different areas of the market always in growth or decline. Due to changing circumstances of British tourists, this has influenced the way we travel and the places that we now visit for holidays. A variety of factors including; increased car ownership, improved education, improved health and fitness, and a tendency to travel further have all affected how we travel and where to. This has resulted in national holidays facing a decline in tourism and an increase in holidays abroad. Moutinho’s theory was that trends would change due to certain factors affecting tourists. This includes Globalisation, Technological acceleration as well as exploration.
