According to article, “In a high-quality program, there is a focus on developing healthy and strong human relationships (p. 40). The program takes place in Condor Elementary School. They used the cafeteria to give them a snack, and make Woven Baskets for children in Protective Services. They had plenty of space to do their project, there were many tables and benches for them to openly do their work, as well as move around. They had a 12-child/2-teacher ratio, which facilitates the supervision of the children. They provided all the material (had plenty of them). They also had board games, plenty of art supplies, and books. In addition, they were provided with outdoor physical activities.

They had to count how many Popsicle sticks could fit around the cup.
2. They were counting how many more minutes till they got to go outside and play.
3. They were trying to figure out how much glue it will take for the stick to hold, and not slip off the cup.
4. They also move around the cups, and even put them upside down to see if the sticks would stay put.
b. Are math and science books and materials available? (provide examples)
I did not observe any math or science books available. I did see they had some calculators and rules (which they did not use).
c. Are both boys and girls equally involved in math and science experiences? Explain how you determined this.
Not in my observation. The girls are the ones that were doing the counting to figure out how many sticks could fit around. A boy told a girl “Just let me know how many you can put around, so I could do the same number of them.” However, they boys were they ones showering more interest on figuring out how much glue it would take for the sticks to stay put. They move around the cups to see if the sticks would fall

They school playground it very big, and they had a lot of space and activities for them to play. I was only able to observe two play and peer interactions. They children were just too fast, and kept moving around, and I was unable to keep up with them or hear what they were saying or playing.
• Two girls were jumping rope, one side of the rope is tied up to a metal pole, and one of the girls was holding the other end, while the other girl jumped. A boy came and asked if he can play, and the girls responded at the same time “NO…. jumping rope is for girls only.” The teacher, went up and explained to the girls that, “jumping rope is for everyone. You don’t have to be a girl or a boy to play. When I was a little girl, my brother and I play this game everyday after school.” The girls apologize, and asked him to join them.
• Two boys were dribbling each a basketball. One of the boys was having a hard time doing this. The other boy was telling him “do it like this, and put it in between your legs.” The boy was unable to do it. He threw the ball and said, “I suck at this, I don’t want to play with you anymore.” The teacher came over and told the boy “that is no way to behave,” he said, “well, he can do all this tricks better than me.” She told him “If you want to be able to do all those tricks, you have to be patient, practice really hard, but most of all, never give up.” The boy smiled,
However, they couldn’t think of a way to catch them without spooking them and letting them run away. They stood around for a little bit looking at each other, because they didn’t know what to do and because of how ill equipped they were. The text says, “Some of them lifted their heads and turned them from side to side...The boys had not brought clubs, or sacks, or anything but themselves.”
One of the girls on defense gets infront of Kathleen and she passes the ball to her. She runs up the field and she passes it Elania. Elania moves the ball to the net and scores again. Now the girls are up by three points and feeling good. Then out of nowhere, the other team has scored four points. Kathleen is freaking out, because she only saved five out of nine shots. The goalie coach yells at Kathleen from the side lines “Kathleen, breath! You got this, you are good and can do this!”
One day there were two guys that were bored, and they were about 23 years old and were trying to figure out something to do. They had no home and no money and they were best friends. There names were James and Jon. All of a sudden James had an idea running through his head so he then suggested it to Jon.
The new mayor was not very nice to the people in the town. He soon found out that the new mayor would not let anyone listen to country music! He soon met Luke Bryan and told him he could not perform for the town. “How come you won’t let anyone listen to country music?” Luke asked. The mayor had to think for a good answer, so he told Luke to come back the next day. It was the next day, so Luke went to the mayor’s office. “My answer is that country music has no point to it, and that is why people shouldn’t listen to it,” the mayor yelled at Luke. Luke started to cry. He loved country music, and he realized that the existence of it would soon fade out of the town. Luke started to run out of the building, but then he thought of a plan. He would have the concert and prove that people really do like country
The two most popular were the plastic Little Tikes slide, and the foot powered carts and scooters. These toys saw the most use during free play, but puzzle pieces, a ball pit, and books were also used. While at the garden, the kids loved picking ground cherries, raspberries, tomatoes, gourds, and an array of herbs. Most of the time there were kids in all of the flower beds, showing no favorites during this activity. The first time a saw a separation between boys and girls was when we visited the apple tree and the pond. At the apple tree, most of the the boys were more interested in throwing apples through the hollow hole in the tree, and the girls were more impressed with rolling down the hill. The boys, when we were down looking for frogs at the pond, loved to stomp their boots in the water (and get their pants wet) while the girls played with toys in the sand. Although there were a few kids playing with the opposite gender group during this observation, the majority of these groups were of one
6. Now get all 6 of the pipe cleaners that are 21 centimeters in length and place 3 on the upper and lower side. Tape it on now. Not on the foil, but taped and attached to the side of it.
It just so happened that after 30 minutes of the three girls being inside they went outside to ask their moms'
My investigative question is does microwaved water stunt plant growth? I was interested in learning more about this topic because I wanted to know if microwaves can put chemicals in your food causing you to not get all of the nutrients from the food. The purpose of my experiment is to see if water set to a boil on the stove, water set to a boil in the microwave, or water from both the microwave and stove will make plants grow more, also to see if the microwave puts bad chemicals into your food. My independent variable is the type of water used. My dependant variable is the height of the plant. My hypothesis is, if plants are grown with microwaved water then they will not grow as much as plants grown with water heated from the stove.
Piedad brought a work station activity to the table for Deyonnah to complete. She told her that they were going to sort. Deyonnah said, “Sure.” Ms. Piedad picked up a yellow popsicle stick and said, “Yellow.” Deyonnah tried to leave the table and said, “Why are you crying?” She began to cry and scream. She began to place color sticks into the cups. Ms. Piedad began to match colored popsicle sticks to the correct color cups. Deyonnah flopped to the ground. Ms. Piedad picked her up and placed Deyonnah on her lap. Deyonnah placed the popsicle sticks into the cups. “Stop,” Deyonnah yelled and flopped to the ground. “I cry, I done!” Ms. Piedad said, “You can do this!” Deyonnah began to sing while she worked. “Thank you, go bye” said Deyonnah. Ms. Piedad told her it was time to put the sticks away. Deyonnah began to place the sticks in the bag. One of the cups fell under the table. “Can you get the cup?” asked Ms. Piedad. Deyonnah flopped onto the ground and began to

Dave decided to set up a Lemonade stand. He had seen other kids in, the neighborhood do it. It didn't seme that complicated. By the time he had made the sines and lemonade and brought it all out, the boy from across the street was sitting at his lemonade stand. The boys name was Mike. Mike glared at dave as he sat at his stand. Dave got an idea. A while later, he came out with a plate of hommade chocolate chip cookies. Mike stormed into his house. Later he came out with a plait of huge chocolate brownies. Dave crossed his arms, sneered, and went into his house. He came back with a tray of mini sandwiches. a family walking down the street stopped at Dave's stand. They bought to sandwiches and three glasses of lemonade. Then they walked across
Maria was at the lunch table one day. As she was about to eat her brownie the school bully walked up her name was Jawanna. She was the biggest and the meanest girl in the grade and she loved picking on Maria. She walked up to Maria and said “let me have your brownie” even though Maria wanted her to eat it she gave it to jawanna anyway. So when jawanna walked away Maria’s friend Jessica came and told her “If you don’t stand up for yourself she is not going to stop picking on you” so she told Jessica if I feed her enough dessert she’ll have a heart attack and they giggled. The next day jawanna wanted Marias mechanical pencil so she asked and Maria said no and she took it anyway and gave Maria a cheap wooden pencil at the end of class she gave
Part 2: I won't write the whole thing for you, but I'll give you some ideas.
At the snack table “L” was sitting and eating cereal. And “A” was playing with the stuffed animal. “L” got up from the chair and grabbed the toy from “A” and threw the toy across the classroom. “A” started to cry. The teacher saw what happened and went over to them. And she said to ”L” is throwing a good thing. And she made “L” go pick the toy up and bring it to “A”.
A lot of the disparity has to do with opposing interests. Researchers have shown that boys just have more of an optimistic view on science. If you give a girl a mathematical problem, she might sit there and complain, or even just not do it. On the other hand, a boy might get right into it and complete it in no time, not because he is smarter than the girl, but because he has a positive outlook on the topic. As you look at the picture below, get a sense for the amount of sarcasm in the poster behind the woman.
