Journalists can see which topics the audience is interested by looking at this information and continue to report on these hot topics.
The top ten most followed twitter users are not media organizations or corporations, but individuals. Researchers and Cornell and Yahoo analyzed how information spreads from media to the masses. They found that a new class of semi-public individuals consisting of authors, bloggers, journalists, and subject matter experts have become part of an important niche on twitter. Opinion-leaders are more exposed to the media than their followers and are part of the intermediate layer. Around half of the information originating from the media passes to the masses indirectly through the opinion leaders (Wu, Mason, Hofman, & Watts, 2011). Automated journalism is an important way technology will change reporting. Algorithms have been able to automatically produce news from structured data. Currently, algorithms can generate news for earthquake alerts, company earnings reports, and crime reporting. The Los Angeles Times used an algorithm to provide comprehensive coverage of homicides and not just focus on sensational cases. Another Los Angeles Time project, Mapping L.A., uses algorithms to automate news generation regarding crimes and generates warnings when crime reports surpass a predefined threshold. If the number of crimes reported that week is significantly higher than the weekly average, the system will trigger a crime alert for that neighborhood.
“‘Tweet. Tweedle-lee-Dee’ (118 Character Left),” by Olivia Fletcher writes from the definition pattern of development. Fletcher’s thesis was, “Since those days, the tweet has morphed into a word whose meaning your great grandfather could have never imagined when he was listening to Day’s hit on Billboard’s Hot 100.” The author organizes her content into different segments; first she explains the history of the new definition of a tweet and she also compares Twitter and Facebook. Her next two paragraphs summarize the negative effects of tweeting, and these paragraphs also include a precis of a “Twitter war” between John Mayer and Perez Hilton. The last two paragraphs in the body discuss the positive effects of tweeting in schools. In the final

‘News media investigate, analyze, and report to stakeholder publics on issues and event s that occur around the globe in a twenty-four-hour, 365-day news cycle’ (Richard,2007:98). Because of the way news media works, we know what is happening in the world and we can have ‘connection’ to other places. With new media arising, the information transmission process become even faster. Though new media is getting more prevalent, still, a considerable amount of people rely on one of the traditional news media – newspaper.
In our contemporary society, we consume massive amount of public affairs every day, all around the world, without being a personal witness of them. We are able to receive this important information through the news media, which includes print-based media such as newspapers, magazines, books, and audio visual such as films, television, and lastly, Internet. Their main purpose is to deliver news to the general public. A legitimate news story aims to do all of the following—inform, educate, and entertain its audience. Thus, it should be mainly concerned with high level of conflict and be relevant to its readers. Only very recently though, the news became increasingly focused solely on infotainment, losing the usefulness of a newspaper. Many

Furthermore, the target user group of this news system would have different news-related behaviours. To catch up the target users’ needs and enhance the usability of the whole system, the news system would support some specific new-related behaviours. One of specific news-related behaviours supported by the system is that the target users would look through some popular or hot news listed on the homepage of the system in order to spend less time on searching for the news or information which they want because many target users would want to catch up the trend and collect a large amount of information in a short time. As a result of this, many target users would through viewing the news listed on homepage to grasp some latest news or events happened in their countries or in the worldwide. Journalism is a form of writing that informs public about things that already happened in our life. It is a practice of examining and reporting issues, events and trends to the media such as print and broadcast media. It is not only presenting the news of the day of a city or a country, but telling meaningful stories about what is new or is happening around us, understanding it and explaining it to others (Michael et al., 2012). The people who write journalism, gather news and information for mass distribution are called “journalists.” They usually work at newspaper, magazines, TV or radio station or online. With these different media, there are also different tasks for every journalist such as reporters, sub-editors, photojournalists, the
Journalism should be as automated as possible and the production of tools to help journalists supplement their articles should be encouraged. For data-intensive fields, more algorithms with the ability to report news without human intervention should be generated. Although there is a fear that these new technologies will have harmful effects on journalism, collaboration between the technology and journalism industries will benefit the future of journalism. New technology will lead to cheaper production costs in the long run, greater content coverage, and overall higher-quality content.
Journalism has become an integral aspect for the human race in the last 100 years. It has allowed the average citizen to be more informed with their community and have a better means to influence their government. As time progressed, it only made sense that a more refined development of news coverage was developed. Unfortunately, in order to be prosperous, a news organization needs to have views and may try to sensationalize a story. This may lead to false assumptions and disorder and such acts are immoral for a Journalist.
Conventionally, it is believed that newspapers have more readers than any other kind of written text. According to Van Dijk (1986), "for most citizens, news is perhaps the type of written discourse with which they are confronted most frequently" (p. 156). In the newspaper it is the headline that has the highest readership. It summarizes the content of a story, and entices an audience into reading the article. According to Ungerer (2000), "a headline describes the essence of a complicated news story in a few words. It informs quickly and accurately and arouses the reader's curiosity" (p. 48). Newspaper headlines are particularly important for the way readers comprehend a news text, they are markers that monitor attention, perception and the reading process (Van Dijk, 1988).
