In September 2001, The Novel of Red Dog written by Louis de Bernières was written to tell the wonderful real story of Red Dog who travelled around the world to find his long lost master, John. In February 2011, that Novel was turned into a film written by Daniel Taplitz, directed by Kriv Stenders and produced by Nelson Woss and Julie Ryan. Many people believe that novels are better than films as you can treasure you book but movies use the plot, characters and settings to bring life to the pages. The literary term Plot is used to describe the events that make up a story or the main part of the story. This is used to make a story more interesting and bring it to life. The book is straight forward, starting at the very start, with Jack and Maureen

imagination by the hand. There are not that many things that are different in the
In this book I will be explaining the differences the similarities and the conclusion. The differences are not big differences but differences that need to be seen. The book and the movie that I will be comparing are Where the Red Fern Grows published in 1961 and the movie which was out in 1974. They did some changes that probably had to be made to fit the time limit, so it wasn’t to long.I don’t know what the other movie which was published in 2003 is the newest one made. My reading class watched the 1974 version. And I am going to tell you about the differences.
Plot is one of the most important aspects of any story or novel. Without plot, there is no point to the story being told. If there are characters walking through the woods the reader needs to know why they are walking through the woods and where they are going. In “Indian Education” there is a clear and concise plot that follows a logical sequence of events. For example, when Victor is shown to be in second grade he narrates that his teacher “…sent a letter home with me that told my parents to either cut my braids or keep me home from class.” This causes feelings of outrage in not only Victor, but his parents too. Later, as an act of defiance towards his oppressors, Victor tells the reader that his graduation cap does not fit because of his extremely long hair. With each event that happens, the reader can connect it to another event or the story as a whole without confusion or difficulty.
Jocko, Jack, Maureen, Peeto, and Vanno are established as certain people in the beginning of the film, and Kriv Stenders, through red dog, has changed that. Red Dog is important to each character for a different reason, though equally important, and slowly, each character finds a way to be cheerful . Red Dog impacts them all through loyalty; he is a friend for everyone. Trust; Red Dog helps everyone in the community to trust each other. Lastly, friendship; through the film the community of Dampier become friends and are kinder to each other.
'Red Dog'- an Aussie drama\comedy film released in 2011, tells the true story of a red stray kelpie dog that existed in Western Australia during the 1970s. Set in a working mine, the “Pilbara Wanderer” was known for his ‘hitchhiking', travelling around the globe from person to person, perusing great loyalty, adopting people and bringing the community together. This classic Aussie movie has shown the loyalty of dogs and the sense of community spirit.
Plot is very important to a story, novel, or even movies. It helps to make object of the story plain to the reader, and make it as enjoyable to the reader as the author wanted it to be. Plot starts out with an introduction of sorts then runs into the rising action, followed by the main point of the story, then the exposition. When that is over the falling action occurs and finally, the resolution of the story. Willa Cather expresses this very intently in his story “The Sentimentality of William Tavener.” He draws the reader in with a man that is strict with his son and wife who are worthy to participate in the circus in town. Willa tells of the wife trying to convince her husband to allow them to go. Then he surprises the
Plot is used to show how resiliency is a necessity for a positive life. Throughout the texts, different events occurred within the plot to create the overall synopsis of
Plot is defined as, "the authors arrangement of incidents in a story it is the organizing principle that controls the controls the order of events (Meyer,64)." The element of plot is heavily relied on in the short story, "The Killings" by Andre Dubus. The plot which is completely made inside the imagination of an author (Meyer,64), gives the audience important insight to people, places, and events in the story (Meyer,64) . "The Killings" provides a somewhat conventional plot pattern, where the character is confronted with a problem and is then led into a climax, which late leads to the resolution of the story (Meyer,65). The conventional plot is easy to follow and serves as a basis for movies and other
These two movies are entirely different in terms of their genre and also they are both based on two different novels. Both movies can strike a similarity in that the audience views the events in both movies as though they are taking place in the current world. Both the films were released on DVD upon their release in 2011. Red Dog rose to become Australian all-time biggest selling DVD and consequently becoming the third in the highest selling DVD’s in Australia behind Avatar and Finding Nemo respectively. Cheers to the narrative edifice, both movies provide an eye-catching context that also enables them to point out an appropriate flow of events.
Almost all stories have plots, and authors employ plots in many different ways. If you can show the particular way in which an author makes use of plot to further his or her story, you have said something substantial. We are interested in learning about the particular way that Hawthorne uses colors and names as character symbols in “Young Goodman Brown,” or the specific way that Updike in “A & P ” shows the world of the grocery store society as a way to enable Sammy 's character to hopefully mature. Try to develop your discussion by focusing on a particular strategy the author uses and what effect that strategy has on the reader. Why did the author choose this particular strategy over other options that might have presented themselves? Does the strategy enable the author to do anything? Are there any constraints in using the strategy?
Plot – these are the events or incidents that take place on the stage. The plot is clearly defined problems that the characters must solve. The plot is very different from the story line and is chronological detailing events that have happened on and off stage. Events that happen off stage are often introduced through a narrative dialogue. The playwrights often create a plot that is sincere and astounding.
The plot or sequence of a story is the order in which events in a story take place and how these events are related to one another. The integral components of a plot include: the exposition, the climax, the conflict and the resolution.
Did you ever realize how different novels and movies about the same story could be? The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has many similarities and differences with The Hound of the Baskervilles movie, made in 2002.
