Should Social Workers be Paid More? Social workers are mandated today, yet workers fulfill dreams to help society in need, but also in their own lives. Every minute people all over the world suffers from a form of abuse. In this case social workers are a needed in helping to save someone’s life from physical, mental, sexual, and various other forms of child abuse. Social workers are underpaid for these reasons: women are in pursuit of this profession, the government’s judgment in the work filed, and not enough of the profession are geographically located. Social workers are professionals who seek help for individuals and families. Workers team together to enhance society for a better world. In a journal, “There is no greater joy nor greater reward than to make a fundamental difference in someone's life” (McGeady). Showing kindness is like lifting the world off society shoulder. In the past, the government provided workers with a higher income, but suddenly there has been sudden decline. Too many woman were involved in the profession, quote Maxwell, “This woman's work, this woman's world” (Maxwell). Women were more involved in gender-based occupation fields, and making the men more powerful which made them to earn more wages. …show more content…

The government feels that its budget will shrink the job market for social workers in a particular geographic location. Many people are involved in social working, but find it very hard to find a job, because jobs locations are fewer than before. Social workers advocate to the government that this field is considerably needed across the world.
