Sally has recently been pushing off dinner and staying in bed. Her mom has just pushing off her not eating for a little, but now it is starting to be concerned with her. Sally has always been the tiny girl in her grade, and maintained being underweight. Her symptoms started small. She exercised, but slowly it came more extreme. She counted every calorie of every meal. Sally stopped eating her favorite food, like ice-cream and cake. Her family did not understand the seriousness of what was happening. Her menstrual cycle was thrown off, and did not come for some months. Her hair fell out, whether it was from stress or the disorder, it was unsure yet. Sally saw no results in what was happening. She stuck her fingers down her throat, she was ashamed of her body. The purging turned to laxative, or anything that helped her get rid of the weight, and food she ate. …show more content…
Something changed in her life, in her environment recently. She just started high school, and it was a hard time for her. She felt she could not compare to the other girls. They all seemed skinnier and prettier then her. They were all athletic and models. Sally was not into that, but it seemed the guys payed more attention to them. She wanted to be like them, she wanted to be a model, but she could not fit the qualifications. What Sally has been diagnosed with by her doctor was Anorexia Nervosa, Binge/Purge Type. Therapy and seeing a nutritionist was recommended. Sally can better learn about diets, picking one that provides her with the essentials to keep her healthy, and maintain an average weight.
She will better understand about nutritions and the ingredients in them. Therapy will help undercover more about where the disorder formed. It will offer alternates to cope with the problems, and emotions. Therapy can help the doctor, and Sally discuss unhelpful beliefs, and how to deal with future

On January 31, 2001 Logan Marr was found dead in an unfinished basement, yards of duct tape surrounding her, and a foster mother claiming that she just fell and hit her head. Sally Schofield, a respected caseworker at Maine's Department of Health and Human Services, had taken Logan in 2000. By 2001, 5 year old Logan would be dead. “I just want Sally Schofield out of my life forever,” Logan’s mother says, 16 years later, “She’s ruined my children’s lives and mine. She took an innocent child from this world for no reason.” Logan’s death was a tragedy that highlighted the problems in Maine's child welfare systems. The mistakes that were made were unforgivable, but a lesson learned from DHHS.
In 1914, Ida Ellison was screaming in pain in her Oklahoma City home. Lewis Ellison paced the hallways and held his wife’s hand, he was waiting for the birth of his second son. His first son had died before Lewis and Ida moved to Oklahoma. On March 1st, their child, a son, burst into the world, an innocent baby in his family's home. Lewis named his son Ralph Waldo Emerson, in honor of Ralph Waldo Emerson, and both parents hoped their newborn son would grow up to become a poet. Even though during the 1900’s births in the hospital were becoming more common, in frontier states like Oklahoma they were still a relatively unheard of idea. Ida and Lewis had moved to Oklahoma City years prior, with hopes of shielding their children from the racism that they and their ancestors had faced.

Jackie Sartor’s dream was to go to college and make something of herself, even though all the other women in her family were homemakers, Jackie and her sisters never felt obligated to become homemakers due to her parents support. Jackie Sartor grew up in a small farming town called Valley Mills right outside of Waco with her Mother, Father, three sisters, and brother. After spending the day outside she would walk back up the long drive way and through the garage door, and the smell of spaghetti sauce would swarmed her nose as the sound of water sizzled against the steaming pot of bubbling water.
