Introduction – What is a relational database
It is a database which shows the links and relationships between two sets of data/stored information in a document or mainly entities. This means e.g. if a computer system has to store a lot of data/information about people instead of repeating the same row of information which may include personal or unnecessary things, you will then be able to click on the main primary key data which then leads to the actual personal things. This is the relationship between the primary key and foreign key. Ians & Co will benefit with a relational database as it has many links to primary and secondary data. Ians & Co being a large company will have a lot of data which means it will be harder to maintain with a simple and old database.
Scenario
A company named Ians & Co employs an IT technician’s team to manage their IT groundwork. They have taken on a new smaller team to do so, we have been asked to create a database suitable for Ians & Co. For them to have ease in keeping records I will produce a database in which they will be able to use. To suit the purpose I will choose a certain type of database which can make it easier to do everything. Also to make it look more modern, and in a way it can be better and easier to read records and sort it all out. Ians & Co feel that they need a better system which can manage and observe there records. However doing so will only require using the following things from IT

A relational database is a database that consists of a collection of tables with columns showing entities, and rows showing data. This type of database uses a primary key and foreign key. The foreign key in another table will point to the primary key of a table, and this is how tables can relate to each other. This permits for one-to-one, one-to-many, and many-to-many relationship between the data. An advantage of relational databases includes the ease of adding or modifying new tables and entities without needing to change the structure of the database already in place. Relational database have many features, including indexing, setting data type, and setting validation tests, all these help to ensure data integrity.
Spellman University had requested that I develop a database for their college. The purpose of the database will be to track the students and the courses. There also will be a place in the system to track the instructors teaching each course. There are many things to be considered in composing this database. This paper will outline the entities, attributes for each entity, the type of relationship, constraints, some business rules, and the conceptual and physical models.
Relational data is when you can put data in a computer one time and it grows
The tables in relational databases organize data in rows and columns, simplifying data access and manipulation. It is easier for manager to understand the relational model than put all data in one table. Besides, a relational database allows tables to be linked. And the linkage reduces data redundancy and allows data to be organized more logically. In a word, relational database is easier to control, more flexible, and more intuitive than approaches.

Secondly the purpose of a database for Ian’s & Co is that basically you can make a lot of queries, forms, tables, and also even reports so that the users can basically report hardware trouble across the two cite. Secondly the company Ian’s and Co will also need desk that are also linked to other desks so that they can keep an eye on the hardware that are having quite a few problems , in addition this will progress the service which is provided to the users and also to make sure the service is operated in an efficient way.
ESL Inc. has tasked me with the project of finding a new database system that will better meet the needs of their growing customer base. ESL is a large company that has been using a series of spreadsheets and access databases, and manual records to track their business and they are currently looking for a better way to streamline the inner workings of their business. This paper will compare and contrast five different database management systems on six criteria. The database management systems (DBMS) that will be discussed are SQL Server 2000, Access, MySQL, DB2, and Oracle.
