I tried and tested two of the plagiarism checkers, as instructed. I have to say wow, I like them. The first has to be my favorite, which is grammarly.com. It was very simple and straight forward. All I had to do was upload the document and get the report. I used a previous assignment which was week one word exercise. I had a few mistakes in grammar, punctuation no spelling errors, and I think one style error. The main thing was I had no plagiarism, which was nice to know. This out of both was the most simplest and most straight forward one to use. The next one tested was paperrater. Com. You need to copy and paste the file text to use this one, also if you want you can buy the other advanced features that will allow you to upload files. This
As a new immigrant, I took the accuplacer test and went straight to 111 English level. So, English 111 course became my first college English class. It seems like a great achievement for a French speaker. Nonetheless, this performance linked to significant challenges. Even though I am a fighter and an optimist, I was frightened about my academic achievement for this semester. The problems became bigger when I took my first practice test on sentence structure (fragments and run-ons) and got a D. I was frightened and felt that I will have to drop the class. However, I decided not to give up. I started working hard and had a V+ on the next test. This positive grade energized me until now. During this semester, I have much homework and practices which allow me to identify some strengths, weaknesses, and gave me lots of skills for my English 112 class and the future.
A person communicate different variety of ways, both verbally and non-verbally. Primates and other animals have been communicating without the use of language since long before humans invented verbal communication. Some scientists believe that even today, most communication between humans is non-verbal. Both types of communication differ significantly between genders and across cultures.
I've heard about the PaperRater site from students here and there over the past year, and I've finally had a chance to check it out a bit. It's like Grammarly, but it offers a detailed analysis report after examining your work.
For the second practicum, I was asked to be engaged for fifty hours on several administrative activities. For this assignment, I completed the following five activities: (1) working on the parent, student, and teacher handbook, (2) pre-interviewing possible teacher candidates, (3) observing a safety meeting, (4) data analysis, and (5) participating in a board meeting. This segment of the paper will discuss these aforementioned activities along with a reflection on these activities.

Although I started the semester off not knowing how to write a strong well-written essay, English 101 has expanded my visions on writing. I am interested in taking English llA because I want to challenge myself into learning more things and becoming a better writer. Throughout the year I have learned to improve my writing skills by learning how to use MLA citations properly which were different from the way I used them in middle school. I was glad I learned more about this which fixed my writing and will help me later in writing essays. Given a chance to take English IIA, I would be able to learn numerously more skills and widen my variety of
Over the course of my studies at university, I have grown and learned more about academic writing and numerous writing styles. I believe there is so much room for me to master my writing skills to succeed and complete my degree and improve my academic writing and personal skills through more practice. However, I have become concerned with my first attempt submitting my piece of paper through the online test in the Writers’ Diet diagnostic tool and was labelled ‘flabby’ in my writing. Analysing my errors and referring to the textbook ’Communication Toolkit’ by Grellier and Goerke (2014), also submitting my piece of writing to Grammarly and paper rater I was able to measure my weakness in the area of sentence structure, punctuation and grammar.
English 101 has been such an adventure. I know that sounds corny, but I just couldn’t help myself. When I decided to do a short-term English class, I thought it would be fun and challenging; My expectations were correct. As I write this reflection, I look back on the topics and assignments that existed in this short period of time from post 1 to the multi-modal project. I will list the challenges I experienced which creating the creative project, what I learned from the beginning of class to the end, and what I need to work on in the future. This English adventure started on post 1 and 2 and ended at the multi-modal project.
I like don’t want to write papers. Sentences like that were sometimes what I would produce in writing high school and college essays. Sometimes it was due to not having a clear thought process and a wondering mind, not doing a good job of proof reading my work, and more recently because of technology. With the help of spell check, technology plays a small part in how effective pieces of work become. The ability to cut, paste, and move sentences around in your paper without having to retype minimizes the burden on all writers. After having to take an Introduction to Writing class again, it has helped me to re-learn the mistakes I used to make. Mistakes like correctness faults, grammatical errors, and proof reading before submitting my work.
When first reviewing the course materials for English 202 this semester I felt a bit overwhelmed with the assignments. Though I genuinely enjoy writing, I thought that I would never be able to research a topic of my choice, develop a variety of strong evidence, and write a paper on it, but somehow, I made it through. I have learned so much over the course of this semester that will help me in future years of writing and am grateful to have taken this class.
My writing throughout this semester has not been outstanding, as my writing pieces in the beginning where ought to be poor. The semester consisted of my knowledge of writing expanding heavily. I am not a big fan of writing papers because writing is one of my weakest point. The interpretive essay was a struggle for me and I also didn't know how to put my paper in MLA style. During my first draft I had no clue as to what to write. When I was writing the first draft of the interpretive essay I felt like I was explaining the story instead of interpreting it in my own understanding so I decide not to turn the paper in. When I spoke with Professor Ryan Clark, he told me to write whatever that comes to my mind and that the first draft doesn't have to be perfect; after the talk with him I decided to start on my draft. The first draft took me about 6 hours to complete. During the 6 hours process of writing the paper I change pages that
Everyone changes, no matter the time. It could be a day to day change, month to month, even a year to another year. One may not realize it, but they still change no matter what. It could be from losing weight to thinking a different way about a certain subject. Nevertheless, the writer I was before this class, and the writer that I am now are completely different writers.
Since beginning to write papers in English class, I have had countless successes and failures. While many of my English classes have taught me how to improve my writing, I have not learned very much in others. My most recent English class was last year, my sophomore year. My class was particularly undersized; therefore, it gave each student the opportunity to have additional individual attention. Throughout the class I experienced high points, weaknesses, and even difficulties that I never overcame. Overall, my writing skills improved, but only marginally.
