Another standard which I reflect upon is Supporting Learning Activities. Because I work 1:1 a lot of the time during my placement I am constantly supporting YP1 with the learning activities. At the end of every session I reflect on how well the session went, how I could improve next time and whether I need to follow up on the activity. I have found that I have added more resources which work better with YP1 so we are able to complete task’s with better understanding. A teaching assistant can have discussions with the teacher after obtaining a copy of the prepared lesson plan. Some time may need to be set aside for these discussions to take place, such as break or lunch times. These lesson plans are usually prepared in advance, the teaching assistant can provide support by doing their own prep work or helping out with task resources.
Reflective practice is important because it accurately assesses the need of each service user. It is essential that all care workers become familiar with reflective practice as our profession depends on shared support, care workers.
Reflective practice is the process that enables individuals to achieve better understanding of themselves, their understanding, their skills, competencies and their workplace practices in general.
2.2 Reflecting on my practise by identifying personally what I found hard and how I could improve and gain more knowledge and extend. Also by completing a SWOC analysis(see attachment 2) for my own feelings and what I as an individual would like to gain more knowledge on and what current opportunities would be available to me and what may prevent me from turning my weaknesses into strengths. In class I also answered some questions on what I have learnt about myself as a TA and what were my highest/lowest emotional moments in the current week this was a good way of reflecting on my practise as made think on what my strengths and weaknesses are and what I need to progress on (see attachment 3) In my place of work we also every 6-8 months have a performance management meeting with our line manager to discuss what courses we would like to attend and what we would like to progress on(see attachment 4). During the course of Unit 332 we complete a PDP (personal development plans) by using SMART targets to address development/learning we want to improve on ( see attachment 5).

Encouraging a supervisee to use reflection on their own practise will ensure the supervisee can bring to supervision a practise that will help them identify problems or solutions to the problem.
Today I arrived at 8: 30. I organised the classroom and made it ready for pupils to come. After assembly we did some time table practice. Next we had a new lesson for numeracy skills and I supported a group of students. L. O. Was about the name of 2 D shapes and how can we recognise them. First Miss B explained about the topic and she draw the shapes on the bored.
Creating action plans and reflective practice has helped me develop both personally and professionally. Through the duration of my health and social care course, looking back at the goals I had set myself in the beginning some were more realistic than others. Effective reflection helps the practitioner to see the situation from an outsider's perspective, so that they can develop a better way to respond to a similar scenario in the future. Reflection is meant to achieve a change in practice, rather than simply repeating the same mistakes (Schon, 1983). Many different models exist for structuring the reflective process. Regardless of the framework used, the reflection models are meant to accomplish three things. They are supposed to promote reflecting on events, self-evaluation and analysis, and a plan to change actions in the future. Reflective practice can be used by workers to enhance their performance and practice at work.
The ability to become reflective in practice has become a necessary skill for health professionals. This is to ensure that health professionals are continuing with their daily learning and improving their practice. Reflective practice plays a big part in healthcare today and is becoming increasingly noticed.
Reflective practice has become very popular over the last few decades throughout a variety of professions. In some professions it has become one of the defining features of competence. The wide spread utilization of reflective practice is due to the fact that it ‘rings true’ (Loughran, 2000).
Reflective practice, in this context, is not about just looking at myself in a mirror and accepting what I see blindly, without any question or evaluation. Rather, it is about looking at what I have learned and how I can utilise that learning in my teaching practice.
