Outcome 1 – Understand principles of professional development
1.1
The important of continually improving knowledge and practice is that you can ensure that you are aware of any new relevant legislation and also you can improve the service that you provide. It also gives you the opportunity to reflect on what you are good at as well as what you are not so good at, so that you can see what areas you can improve in.

Being relatively still new to social care I need to ensure that I find out more about legislation and the essential care standards set down by the CQC (Care Quality Commission) and as Registered Manager the requirements for reporting and providing person centred care.
I have the relevant experience, knowledge and experience for being a manager and therefore I need to investigate and develop further knowledge in regards to social care. I also need to balance this with my own develop and knowledge in regards to working for a new company and finding out and learning new policies, procedures and requirements.
2.2
I need to prioritise development goals and targets to meet the expected standards in order that my staff and I have the relevant training and knowledge to carry out our roles. I need to reflect on my own strengths, weaknesses and gaps in my knowledge. By carrying out supervisions and appraisals on my staff I can establish the same for them.
Then I need to research appropriate training that is available to ensure that the most important development needs are met as quickly as possible, those needs that meet essential knowledge and standards which are set down in legislation.
Then I would need to review further development

1.1 – it is important for me to continually improving my knowledge, and ensure that I am aware of, and follow, the current health & social care standards, legislation, and guidelines for good practice. Learning new skills and refreshing training enables me to progress, and achieve within my career and working practices.
2.1 Evaluate prior learning and work-related experience to identify personal strength and weaknesses in self-development.
The purpose of this unit is to assess the learner’s knowledge, understanding and skills required to promote the professional duty to maintain the currency of knowledge and skills and the need to continually reflect on and improve practice.
Within my role, it is important to continually improve knowledge and practice so I am aware of how to give the best diverse and equal care to children, stay fully up to date with all standards and legislations.
In my role it is important to continually improve my knowledge and practices. In health and social care ways of working and legislation as well as good practice are constantly changing. Therefore it is important to keep up to date with training and also any changes in legislation. This will enable me to deliver the best service possible to the tenants I support and also enables me to keep staff upto date with any changes in the way that we work. It also forms part of The codes of practice for social care workers to keep skills and knowledge up to date.
It is a managers role to guide and support staff to understand the importance of professional development and how they take learning forward to allow their standard of work to be enhanced.

Continually improving my knowledge is essential to my role and ensures that I have the skills and knowledge needed to create the best provision for children. I need to be aware of the most up to date legislations and guidelines, including the EYFS and the welfare requirements.

1. Briefly explain how the CIPD HR Profession Map defines the HR profession, including the professional areas, the bands and the behaviours.
It is thereby important because it augments existing information and skills, collaborates in the middle of colleagues and professions, sharing the learning in the middle of client and different professionals as well as dissemination of new innovations (Marks, 2010). Moreover it maintains professional standards, develops quality of service, contributes to the quality of life of clients, increases sense of prize, increases levels of motivation and identifies future learning. The continuous professional development is also essential because it ensures skills and learning are present and fit for purpose, it facilitates career progression, provides a means to lead, mentor and mentor others, increases levels of open certainty and meets professional association requirements (Salvo, 2015).
Before going further, we should define what professional development is. Professional development is the process of improving and increasing capabilities of staff through access to education and training opportunities in the workplace, through outside organization, or through watching others perform the job. Professional development helps build and maintain morale of staff members, and is thought to attract higher quality staff to an organization.
The term professional development is where an individual can work on their own or with a mentor to set the goals of learning and training, it is also about improving and increasing capabilities of staff through access to education and training opportunites in the work place.This will improve everyon's understanding for you to work better within a work setting, you will be working your way up to the standards which are required in your job
There are many ways in which professional development can happen. The item for development I chose is the professional learning community.
