PC Versus Macintosh
Thesis: Console gamers need to understand the over rated outlook of the Macintosh and should invest more of their equipment in PC content. These gamers should use PC instead of Macintosh computers. The lack of gaming capability/availability and user-friendly creativity, high prices, repair capability, more possibilities of cybercrime, and overly gaudy appearance of the Mac are all facts that are never acknowledged by companies and gamers when referring to the Mac as a “gaming” console.
I. The first obvious gaming downside to siding with the Apple Macintosh is that there is only ever one extremely restricted machine to choose from
A. All the “new” Macs with “more gaming capability” are not really new Macs—they are all based around the same basic look and the computer core and processor hardly ever change.
B. PC's are still often more upgradeable than Apple computers.
i. Upgradeable parts for Apple computers can be more expensive than equivalent parts in a PC. ii. The upgrades are cheaper
II. Even if it was a viable option to

These two consoles alone have been the main focus and cause of online blog battles – but do we truly understand the fundamental gaming differences between a Windows PC and a Macintosh? Console gamers need to understand the over rated outlook of the Macintosh and should invest more of their equipment in PC content. These gamers should use PC instead of Mac computers. The lack of gaming capability/availability and user-friendly creativity, high prices, repair capability, more possibilities of cybercrime, and overly extravagant appearance of the Mac are all facts that are never acknowledged by companies and gamers when referring to the Mac as a “gaming”
Video games are an ever-growing franchise that is constantly undergoing change. Ever since the dawn of video games, new consoles, games, developers, and teams have come together, fallen apart, triumphed, and failed. What is it that has allowed some to thrive where others failed? Several different factors have changed and influenced the world of gaming, including the history that is continuously being written, the people who have built the games behind the scenes, and, of course, the actual video games themselves. Numerous video games have been more successful than others, but identifying what components set the successful apart from the unsuccessful is something definitely worth observing.
It has only been a matter of time since the next gen consoles were released. In 2007 the Xbox360 and the ps3 were announced. Since then we have come a long way. Then the memory pool was 512 MB. But as the years go new things are developed. And thus with the next gen consoles inbound they have their pool of a shocking of 8 GB which allows developers to expand their Imagination and pour it into the game. Consoles have always been very popular. They are one of the reasons gaming really became popular and they have improved a lot over the last few years, in terms of graphics mainly.
Another consequence of Apple’s unwillingness to allow other manufacturers to produce Macintosh computers is a limited selection along with the prohibitive unavailability of the Macintosh. There are only a few distinct models of computers made by Apple, and each of them can only be found at Apple’s store or on their website.
Now that technological companies all over the world have set most of the seven billion individuals in the world with a computer, smartphone or tablet, it is time for better software to use with them. This is where games come in. Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello stated in a recent interview that PC gaming is the ‘fastest growing platform’. This shows the growing interest in gaming bearing in mind that gamers also have the means to play on. The term ‘gamer’ refers to an individual that plays a game or games, typically a participant in a computer or role playing game. The gaming community has grown so wide in the last few years because of the shift from single player games to multiplayer games on the internet
Yes, I was one of those PC people and I listened to you brag about Mac’s and iPhones. Well it took me several years. I thought you were right on everything but one thing. Mac, now way. Today, Mac all the way. This just proves it, you are right! Right on
Tom Bissell presents an article in 2010, to college students of which is “Why Video Games Matter.” Bissell isn’t intending for the argument to be about video game criticism, the history of the gaming, or an assessment of anything. On the contrary, he wants to articulate his own opinions and thoughts on what playing games feels like, why he plays them, and the questions they make him think about. Being a gamer myself, I have also endured the struggles of what being obsessed with a video game feels like. It is understood that when first purchasing a video game, all one thinks about is getting home and popping it in the console, disregarding everything else that is happening in the vicinity.
There has mostly been much debate over which is the better and most reliable computer to use. There are people who are die-hard Macintosh users, and there are people who are die-hard Window users as well, and naturally people sitting somewhere in between. The fact remains that the most home and business users own Windows-based systems because they are 50% less cheaper than a Macintosh. Windows- based computers are more practical, better software, and versatility for most people than Macintosh computers.
For many years there have been a small group of Mac users who continue to claim that the hardware and software platforms they have been using is superior to the PC Intel based platforms.
The argument we often hear from PC users is that the cost of a Mac is too high and they can purchase a machine with the same power as a Mac for less. Although the cost of a Mac is relatively higher about 400-600 in the long run the higher cost and the value of the Mac will outweigh the pc. Lets take the new 27” IMac into consideration. First off the amount of pixels used is well above and beyond the HD quality of 1080p. To purchase another computer screen with this amount of pixilation will require a screen larger than 30” and with a price tag well above 1000 dollars. Secondly it ships with a wireless keyboard standard and with the new wireless multi touch mouse. The first desktop of any
Issue 03: The weak area of Apple Inc. is the fact that most of its products are all available in the market. Consumers around the world have many options to popular hardware and software devices and operating systems. Since PCs are the one that are
Threat of Substitutes: The main substitute for a video game console would be a personal computer. They can both be used for playing different types of video games and be used for entertainment. The threat of this substitute edging out video game consoles is very low, because they are not completely similar. If anything, video game consoles are edging out personal computers in the gaming industry. The threat of substitutes in the video game is not very high. In 2008, this was not a very strong force in the video game industry.
The threat of substitutes in the video game industry is relatively low. Most customers are looking for a console that they can play games on and there really isn’t much else to choose from. One could say that computer
When shopping for a computer, one can look at the cost and compare it to other models. For instance, individuals usually have less to spend than organizations. The HP Envy model is adequate for companies looking for greater processing power (Intel Turbo Boost) (“HP Pavilion HPE,” 2011). The Dell Studio model is a little expensive; however, this model is adequate for small business and organizations. Similarly, the HP Companies looking for attractiveness will find the MacBook’s unique design quite appealing. Overall, these three models range in price from $649.99 to $1300.00, they are high end products known for quality and
* Easy use of the electronics has led to an image problem for Apple products; some people consider the Macintosh as a toy.
