Delta State University pioneers a path for each and every one of their students by giving them resources such as the international business symposium. Having speakers with very prominent careers, students are given useful insight into the business world, and students learn key characteristics that they need to exhibit in order to have a successful career. These speakers leave a permanent mark on our students and can also serve as a foot in the door for future employment. During DSU’s 2018 International Business symposium, three speakers that proved to be extremely influential were David Abney, Rodney Francis, and Danny Lipe.
Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) is a nonprofit university that offers exemplary undergraduate and graduate education in the liberal arts and professional disciplines. During my time at SCSU, I am fortunate to have worked as a student worker and currently I work as a graduate assistant for the Community Alliance for Research and Engagement (CARE) program. Being able to serve as a graduate assistant in a nonprofit university encompasses a great deal of responsibilities and reward. For instance, I work with New haven residents to identify and tackle social and health issues identified by the community. I also work alongside the resident partners to build relationships with other neighborhood leaders and community organizations who have diverse knowledge, expertise, and skills. In addition, I help to create health activities with community residents, conduct outreach about neighborhood-level projects, and assist with research-related activities.
I am interested in Central Connecticut State University because it offers a solid Engineering program. Central has a beautiful campus and both my Father and Mother attended Central Connecticut State University. CCSU has a small campus with a relatively small student body. My initial interest for applying to Radford University came about through an uplifting conversation I had with Danylle Kunkel, professor within the department of management. While attending a friend's basketball tournament who attends and plays for Radford University, Mrs. Kunkel and I met and spoke briefly about my aspirations for both business and management, and more specifically about my inevitably intention to turn my father's business "Z-Kabob" into a full blown franchisee. Long story short, she had given me some priceless tips about marketing decision-making, mentioning how Radford's entrepreneurship program couldn't have been a better fit for me. Her evident passion while educating me, and within business itself, is just one of the factors that makes me so eager and joyful to write this application with hopes of getting an acceptance.

Southern Methodist University (SMU) was the first major Methodist institution in the South to enroll African American students. SMU started the process of desegregation a decade before others, namely Duke, Emory, Rice, Tulane, and Vanderbilt. Heman Sweatt, an African American, won a legal case allowing him to attend the University of Texas in November 1950. After Herman’s victory, SMU President Umphrey Lee went to the SMU Board of Trustees to open admissions for African Americans as regular students at Perkins School of Theology (Cashion, 2013). African Americans started attending SMU as regular students in January of 1951. Neither the church nor the city was ready to do what SMU did, and this is what makes the story so fascinating.
A staff should be recognized when they support the mission statement of the college. Formal or informal recognition of each employee creates an atmosphere of appreciation. That type of approach will underline the motives and passion to keep working towards a common goal. Faculty of any institution is an important component to a college’s success. No institution should want their staff to feel less appreciated. Teaching students, mentoring and giving knowledge to our future leaders is very important. If you look at Delaware State University (2012) reports that: “For purposes of promotion, tenure and/or merit pay each faculty member is evaluated annually in the areas of teaching, professional growth/recognition, and contributions to the University

Detailed-oriented and thorough; Quality control is about careful analysis of samples to ensure that standards for productions are reliably and consistently met. To conduct careful analysis on samples, technicians must be detail-oriented and follow procedures thoroughly. In Texas A&M University, I was working in a nuclear chemistry lab, where the project I was working on dealt with extractions with small volumes of solvent. To be able to reliably separate the solvent system I was working on required careful observation of the solvent system and a methodical organization of the test tubes.
