When I decided to attend Howard University I was undecided as to my major and my career field. I worried that without a set plan I may not perform as well academically so I set certain academic goals to work towards as I determined my career path. I changed my major first to political science, and then settled on public relations major with a political science minor. The goal I planned to work towards from the beginning is to graduate with honors achieving a 3.8 cumulative GPA. My second academic goal is to attend one of the top 15 law schools once I graduate. The most prestigious la firms tend to mainly hire from these schools and the intent behind my academic goals is to begin my career as quickly and successfully as possible.
I always desired to learn the most I can in various subjects. My goals in life are vast and strikingly different. Receiving an education that would limit my pursuits to one career path is not my ideal education. Receiving a liberal arts education challenges me to think critically, express my ideas both spoken and authored. Those skills can be applied to every career path I can imagine. My plans include becoming a renowned blogger, lawyer and eventually publisher. For example: one of my short goals is to improve my writing skills, at Spelman I have seen the importance of writing thus far. Spelman incorporates writing across the curriculum. This will fine tune my writing skills in a variety of genres. The focus of black womanhood across the curriculum will diversify my perspective in the culture of the professional
My goal is to further develop my career, and grow up to a leadership position within a leading firm that places priority on professionalism and considers their human resources as one of their main assets. After 7 years of experience in the field I am confident that working in human resources is what makes me feel at my fullest potential, and a life changing decision I have made for my
I plan to work in a setting that focuses around adolescents, either in an alcohol and drug facility or an organization that deals with promoting healthier life styles and habits. The company will focus around fitness and wellness. I have some very ambitious goals after I finish in May that will require a lot of me and intense hours.
This plan began years ago and has evolved more and more to today’s final vision. After the completion of my bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan, I will attend a t14 law school and then begin my career as a corporate attorney. I aspire to work in the private interest
I have given much thought about my education and career goals. I included my current qualifications and accomplishment, as well as, the fulfillment of my desire to work in the government sector or industry. The issue I had with setting this goal was I qualified to work in many areas, and had become as a “jack of all trades and master of none.” I was all over the place trying to land in a specific area and industry. I have an Associates of Applied Arts degree in Paralegal, a Certificate in Corporate Governance, and a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice. I have worked in the private and nonprofit sector for years. I have collaborated with local and state government for a cause, but still felt as if something was missing, or I was not connecting with the right person or institutions. Therefore, I knew I had to strategically pursue both, education and career goals according to my vision and in doing so, I have to think long-term keeping my eyes on the result of my goals.
I plan to acquire a Bachelors degree with a major in communications at an American school abroad in France. This degree is versatile and provides
In my last professional position I chose to blatantly disregard several obvious red flags, one of which indicated a strong undertow that certainly brought about second thoughts and felt troublesome. Again, qualitative measures such as organizational culture and their associated ilk represent incredibly difficult phenomena to wrap one’s arms around.
