1 Microsystems are one of the greatest influence levels of ecological system. First, the two examples am going to talk about are neighborhood and school system that I went to. There was no proper facilities that could help me reached potential achievement. There were no books, funds and teachers to encourage higher education for those who were in need. Also neighborhood where I was there was no children who went to school. The neighborhood was full with children who dropped out of school, so it was hard to do well out of those characters; however, this decrease my development. In the next system is exosystem. This includes work place and Local education, so my father was a middle school teacher in Africa and every year he used to …show more content…
The Skinner presenting his theory by spontaneous babbling. He uses words ones by ones in a grammar while Chomsky uses language acquisition devices which put children to the rule of grammar quickly from the speech they hear everyday. The one which is convincing me is the one for Chomsky because the children are ready to use their mind to understand and speak the language offered everyday. 4). The advice I would offer to my friend is to look for central day care because there is a well training people who will teach children and encourage different activities. Also central day is safety, well arranged and everybody is responsible for taking care of any child. Another one, caregivers will be able to teach child the language, how to talk and sing. 5). The two examples for scaffolding from my child are: teaching a child how to shower by herself and holding bread to apply butter by herself. 6). the important of parental interaction with a child is very important because this will make a child to have opportunity to develop language skill and new concept. The parents will be able to read for the child everyday, play together which an able a child to develop his or her brain. One of the examples, of how devices affect a child is that this may make a child to develop unhealthy lifestyle because she or he will spend too much time on the game more than doing an
An effective communication between parents and child is vital: it helps the child to feel safe et secure, it helps the child in his/her social and affective
The teacher or parent then allows the child to do the activity on their own up until the child can no longer do it without any help (). An example of scaffolding is when I taught the children how to tie their shoes. I demonstrated the activity while also saying the steps once. Then I let the children to attempt to tie a shoe on their own and once the child was no longer capable of doing it on their own I assisted them until they could tie their shoes without my help. Not all the children got to the point of being able to tie their own shoes, but some did. A week later when I returned to the classroom the children who were able to do it on their own and were able to retain that skill as tie their
Technology advances are encouraging a sedentary lifestyle for children. A study done by the Kaiser Family Foundation done in 2012, showed that children ages seven to eighteen spend seven and a half hours daily their phones or on social media (Kelly). They found that children spend four and a half hours watching TV, two and a half hours listening to music, one hour on the computer, and thirteen minutes playing video games a day (Kelly). When children are watching TV or playing video games, they are mindlessly eating, not knowing how many calories they are taking in. The key to stay healthy is to maintain a balance between energy intake and outtake (Perry). Playing video games and sitting on the couch watching TV is not a way to burn energy. Technology and emotion distress can be rooted back to a child’s weight.
When we look at the Ecosystem in terms of this television show the mother would come home and yell at the children because she was tired and they had not cleaned all day while she was at work. This would then effect the children negatively because she was at home and yelling. The job itself many not affect the child, but her attitude from working long hours did. Therefore “this component of the exosystem can have a profound influence on the child even though the child is not directly involved.” (Bronfenbrenner, n.d.) Lastly we look at the Macrosystem. When we look at the Macrosystem in regards to this television show I would focus on change. “Changes within the Macrosystem will result in changes in other systems which will affect the child.” (Bronfenbrenner, n.d.) When it comes to change I look at the mother’s job. The change from one job to two jobs can affect the dynamics of the household and then in turn the children. They may not know why the mothers needed two jobs, so her not having the two jobs could affect the children in a negative way and then her having two jobs could keep the children from being affected by any
Microsystem is the most direct relationship. The microsystem consists of close family members, caregivers, school, child care, and parents. The exosystem contains ecological elements that have a great influence on a child's development, but this ecological element is not involved with the child directly. The exosystem consists of child care regulations, training opportunities, parent’s workplace, neighbors, extended family members and availability of health services.
Johnson (2006) eloquently talks about healthcare systems as “cumbersome, unwieldy, unfriendly and opaque to its users” (Johnson, 2006, p. i10). It is the challenge of this post to take the clinical microsystem where I practice, the HIV Health Service Center clinic, and discuss the interrelationships of this microsystem to the microsystems of other primary care clinics in the county system. The main role of the mesosystem is to support the microsystems. According to Bronfenbrenner’s ecological system’s theory, the mesosystem contains the relationship between two systems, or between the primary care clinics in the county system and the macrosystem which contains both the microsystem and the mesosystem. Moreover, the Multnomah County Health Department could be identified as the macrosystem here or we could identify the larger state system as the macrosystem. Communication between systems is an area that could be enhanced to improve overall functioning of the clinics.
The Microsystem includes the environment surrounding the child, such as peers, family and school. The Mesosystem is the connections between microsystems, such as Home system into School system. Then there’s the Exosystem, exterior to his/her experience where the environment in which an individual is not directly involved. The Macrosystem is the cultural value in which people live along with their expectations. Lastly is Chrono-system and that’s the events happening in a child’s life; the influence of personal history. Later determined was the child’s biological system, but it was not a conclusive factor. Other theories include Bio-Ecological systems theory and Theory on the Ecology of Human
Many electronic games, which children are playing, do not require any movement. All that children are doing is pressing buttons while they are sitting. Also, sitting in front of the T.V to watch series and movies for many hours instead of playing outdoors has negative consequences on children. It sometimes causes various diseases, such as diabetes, and harm their bones- especially the spinal cord. Children usually sit in unhealthy position putting a high pressure on the spinal cord and then causing spinal scoliosis. Furthermore, using cars or bus regularly to transport from one place to another would make children used to a lazy lifestyle. They may become inactive and lose the tendency to tasks which demand high energy. Meanwhile children who are used to walking, are active and healthy. Thus, technology has advantages and disadvantages depend on our attitude and how we use
Even if the games are not violent, another side effect that video games have on the health of children is with exercising. In a
Based on the author, endless and uncontrolled playing with electronic visual entertaining has an adverse effect that causes several diseases in kids. Christopher points out that youngsters "who spend more than two hours a day" on computers can go through serious problems and "may suffer from childhood obesity." The writer adds evidence from University of Texas at Dallas to her assertive claim that the youth can experience more health issues other than excessive weight increasing, such as pain in the back, head, and wrist. The article "Do Video Games Contribute to Childhood Obesity?" on the website http://www.livesh·ong.com/ reinforces Christopher’s believes. In paragraph 1, Loop introduces the article by stating, "Although genetics and diet
Being at the residence school was a difficult experience at the beginning for Ana. She experienced the stressful situation of adaptation to living by herself, surrounded by peers and no family around throughout the week. Thus, this school became her microsystem based on Bronfenbrenner’s ecological theory. This microsystem involved personal relationships with peers, teachers, and her two siblings. She influenced the microsystem as well as it influenced her by making her more independent and sociable. Another environmental factor during this developmental period was the support she received from family and by carrying her values. Therefore, Bronfenbrenner’s macrosystem had a big influence in her life as Ana always had her cultural values, beliefs,
They argue that kids and teen spend too much time on the video games and are too inactive while this might be true video games might actually be able to lower this. In a study done by “Haddock et al. (2009) [41] measured oxygen consumption, energy expenditure, and perceived exertion during a comparison of stationary cycling with and without a video game. Children participating in this study (N = 20) were at risk for overweight and between the ages of 7–14 years old. Participants rode a stationary bicycle (CatEye Gamebike, USA) for 20 minutes. Testing session 1 consisted of riding the bicycle, while in session 2 the bicycle controlled the speed in the game Cars (Pixar Entertainment Inc.). Energy expenditure was significantly higher (4.4 ± 1.2 K cal min−1) when cycling in conjunction with the video game than riding the bicycle on its own” ( Griffiihts, M.). This shows that video games can motivate children to want to do more physical activities. Another example would be Pokémon Go it made many people go in search for pokémons, of course, there are ways around it such as driving instead of walking but there are some that aren’t accessible by car. When you start getting older your health start to decline but video games can help to slow down the process of cognitive deterioration and help improve it just how it stated in an article by Torres “It
The ecological systems theory observes how the environment and the systems within it can affect an individual’s emotional, psychological, and physical health. Meaning, development is largely influenced by social relationships and surroundings. The microsystem is the system closest to the individual and the one in which they have direct contact with. Some examples include the household, school, or work environment. A microsystem typically includes family, teachers, peers, or caregivers. The mesosystem consists of the interactions between the different fragments of an individual’s microsystem. The mesosystem is where a person 's individual microsystems do not function independently, but rather are interconnected and assert influence upon one another. Lastly, the macrosystem encompasses the cultural environment in which factors such as economy, religion, politics, values, and culture all interact with one another, and therefore shape an individual.
The microsystem 's setting is the direct surroundings, we have in our lives and it is the small, close environment a child subsists in. The ecological theory alleged that everything around a specific student cause influence in his behavior. As a teacher, we have little or no control over all the systems mentioned in this theory. However, we can
The interaction between parents and child from the earliest days help develop the bond of teacher and pupil. Before our child enters into elementary school and secondary education, the parent provides all of the educational needs, from counting, reading, writing, and saying the alphabet. Once the child enters into the schooling system, the responsibility of
