Attention Getter- So I'm sure everyone has been in the situation where they were invited to go eat and ordered to much and decided they would take it to go but then the next day realized that the food wasn't as appetizing since now its soggy which left them with no other choice than throwing it away. Well it seems as if only the United States does this since it was stated by Rubbish Please that Americans are only 5% of the world population but produce 30% of the waste globally. II. Listener Relevance- The world we live in is slowly being torn down by water pollution, air pollution, land pollution. Surprisingly, a very simple thing such as recycling helps reduce all of these. III. Speaker Credibility- Recycling helps improve the environment and it's also a very simple task that we can perform in our everyday lives so why are we not doing it? IV. Thesis Statement- I'm now going persuade you into recycling. V. Preview- Today I'll be convincing you to recycle by informing you the ways recycling can help reduce pollution, easy ways you can recycle, and how the world is with/without …show more content…
If everyone were to just stop recycling no one would really see a change in their regular days and people would think it would all seem the same and it doesn't affect them. However, the environment we live in effects everyone and as stated by Marck Recycling each person regularly generates 4.38 pounds of waste per day which would all go to trash if you weren't recycling so it would multiply by 7.125 billion people on earth and we would end up with 31.2 billion pounds of waste in landfills every single day. It would also have an impact on how we manufacture resources since we do have a certain amount of natural resources. Many people may think well we can plant more trees to create more resources however, cutting trees down is quicker than a tree growing. So overall, not recycling would have a negative impact in how we get and create resources but also landfills and
Preview of Main Points: First, I will explain the problem with not recycling. Next, the causes of the not recycling. Last, the solution and what we can do.
Transition: Now that I have talked about the recycling, let’s move to the visualization part.
Ever since elementary school, we’re taught to recycle. They usually do not tell us why it’s so important to recycle or what it does for the world, but they just say to recycle. So some adhere to what we’re told and others just pass it by as if it were nothing. Maybe if we were told why we should do it, more people would actually take the time out of their day and recycle. When we here the word “recycle,” we think of soda cans, water bottles, and plastic material, but what many don’t know is that there is much more than that we can recycle. Once people start to recycle, they realize it’s completely easy and becomes more of a habit. “In 1973, not a single curbside recycling program existed in the United States.
Recycling has always been a matter of helping the environment to have a sustainable community, it is the number one action we can do for the environment, the economy and our future for this planet. In this essay I am going to write about why recycling is important. And why it is worth our efforts to have a sustainable environment for future generations. The benefits of recycling are many and those includes reducing the waste send to landfills, prevent pollution, and have economic benefits that create jobs in the recycling and manufacturing industries. Society should recycle in order to abstain and control global warming. With this in mind carbon dioxide is the main cause of this global
Recycling is something every person has thought about from time to time. We all know what we hear about it, and how it is supposed to help. Many people will let the thought about recycling go in one ear and out the other, because it does time a little more time than simply throwing everything into a trash bag. The world’s population keeps growing, along with the number of humans we are adding to this planet comes with more waste that we all produce over our lifetimes. It is easy to just throw everything in a trash bag and take it out to the dumpster, however, if we took just a little extra time to separate our items into recycling bins we all could make a big difference.
Imagine walking down a forest path, feeling the crisp fall breeze, hearing the birds chirping, breathing in the fresh air. The earth's environment is wonderful and as stewards of this plant, it is every human's job to protect and even enhance its beauty. Dumping incinerated garbage into a hole in the Earth is not exactly being a good steward. However, science has developed the technology of recycling, and people should use this blessing as readily as possible. In other words, everyone should recycle, and if they won't do it on their own, recycling should become a requirement. Recycling should be mandatory because it helps minimize pollution, conserve energy, preserve natural resources, and create jobs.
“Today, U.S. citizen’s produce over 250 million tons of municipal solid waste, before recovery, which is close to one ton per person”, says Jay Withgott’s 6th edition book. The world is growing in population and people are just exceeding in the amount of waste they are adding to the Earth. Waste is defined as any unwanted material from a human activity or process. Municipal solid waste is an extensive problem in the United States, but so is an Industrial solid waste and Hazardous waste. If people repurposed items that can be reused, we would be saving plenty of resources. Recycling is the one of the best ways to get rid of waste. Recycling is the process of turning used materials into materials that can be reused as a material or for a new purpose. Per the North Carolina Data Waste Management, the amount of trash North Carolinians throw away, would fill enough Dumpsters to line the length of North Carolina’s Interstate 40 more than six times in one year. That is almost 2,750 miles of dumpsters each year. We are going to focus on how recycling saves energy, conserves waste by reusing materials, and protects natural resources if recycling materials are being used. This relates to the protection of land and ecological resources and why one should recycle.
It’s not just you that can be drastically affected by choosing to not recycle, you're also affecting natural habitats. We cut down more trees to create more products, and when we do that we are reducing the worlds oxygen and increasing the production of carbon dioxide. According to the PETA official website “[A]nimals are more likely to be affected

Recycling is not the best way to improve our environment. There are three ways that recycling is not the best for us. First off how the recycling process is. Second, there are many disadvantages that come with recycling. Finally, there are solutions and alternatives for recycling.
Each year, the United Kingdom generates more than 290 million tonnes of waste out of which nearly 10% comes from homes. Up until the 1980s, much of this waste was never recycled. However, in the early 90s, the green revolution in Europe and North America led to the concept of recycling. By the late 90s, there was more awareness of climate change and how we were contributing to the rapid depletion of our planet’s valuable resources. Experts started to highlight the fact that life would not be sustainable for long and recycling was necessary. During the same time, the UK joined the European Union and was encouraged to become part of a recycling program.
If recycling is the future, then we must focus our efforts on reducing negative impacts to our community while protecting our environment. Although recycling may seem like a modern concept introduced with the environmental movement of the 1970s, it's actually been around for thousands of years. Prior to the industrial age, society couldn't make goods quickly and cheaply, so practically everyone practiced recycling in some form. When products can be produced and purchased cheaply, it often makes more economic sense to simply throw away old items and purchase brand new ones. However, this culture of disposable goods created a number of environmental problems. Through correct methods of recycling, people all over the world could
We also can try not to create too much garbage by recycling and making sure we don’t buy more food than what we need and then end up throwing it out. Recycling helps to save space in landfills and it can reduce pollution. Tropical rainforests can be saved by recycling aluminum cans. One would not realize the impact that recycling in one country would affect another area across the world. The tropical rainforests are mined for materials that are used to make aluminum. Recycling is also believed to slow down global warming. Recycling plays a vital role in preserving environmental resources and preserving an Earth for future generations.
Everyone has something to say about recycling, starting with all the benefit to all the negative issues that have been brought up by many different people, humanity needs to come together and focus on
Care for a snack? Try the chocolate bar that comes in recyclable packaging, or maybe pick up a package of sustainable wood-fiber-filled baby diapers, or a no-animal-testing sunscreen, nontoxic spray cleaner, an entry form for a Prius giveaway or a cloth grocery bag for your shopping (Layton, 2014). Many products have become useful in so many ways that not recycling is harmful as well as unwise and uneconomical. There’s not enough room to throw trash all over the place, pollute, and simply not recycle. In order to understand the importance of recycling, people must first understand what recycling is, what it involves, and how it works. It is also important to know not only the effects of recycling but benefits as well. There are
