Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about how to use the 1040EZ tax form.
Central Idea: Today, I hope to make tax season easier for you by demonstrating to you how easy it is to fill out and file the 1040EZ income tax form, if you qualify.

Next, you have to check whether anyone else can claim you as a dependent. 1. If your parents claim you as a dependent, then you have to fill out the attached worksheet that helps to figure out exactly what your deduction will be for line 5. 2. If your parents don 't claim you as a dependent, then you put either $9,500.00, or 19,000.00 depending on whether you are married or single, onto line 5. F. We are up to line 6 where you find out just how much of your money Uncle Sam can tax. 1. .To find out what this amount is, you subtract line 5 from line 4, and enter this amount on line 6. G. Next, all you need to do is fill in the amount of federal income tax that was withheld from your paychecks through the year, and add any Earned Income Credits to derive at the total payments, or the total amount of taxes you paid the government that year. H. Now, it is time to finally figure out what you really wanted to know all along, how much money you will be getting back from the IRS in the form of a tax refund. 1. You need to look up your taxable income on the official IRS tax table, to determine the "tax" amount, and enter than amount on line 10. 2. If line 9 is larger than line 10, then congratulations, you will be getting money back from Uncle Sam. 3. To find out exactly how much you will be getting back, subtract line 10 from line 9. 4. For anyone wanting to check the status of their tax refund, simply go to the IRS's Where's my refund (irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96596,00.html) webpage where you'll find an easy to use tool to request the information. If you would rather check the refund status by phone, you may call 1-800-829-1954. The IRS asks that you wait 3 days after filing electronically, or 3 weeks after mailing a return before checking for a status update. For those who file an amended return, however, the period to receive a refund check will take 8-12 weeks.

Each year millions of Americans get a refund from the IRS. Although it's great to receive a check, you could have done more with that money throughout the year if your withholdings were accurate. The first scheduled broadcast airs in early February. Subsequent broadcasts follow every week for 6 to 8 weeks, until April. And, it’s rated “E” for everyone. Presenting, the 30-minute, TV episode called The Real Deal Tax Lady show. Yet, there is more to this one-woman show.
