Basically, they serves as a model, to based on my decisions I make in life and continue the things they used to do. For instance, I was raised admiring my family’s passion in playing badminton, that includes the willingness to become more than a players, and be a trainers and coaches, to advocate and to pass their knowledge in playing this sports. Likewise, my mother’s side has this tradition called family heirloom, where the family ring is passed from generation to generation. This works by giving the ring to the oldest daughter who is about to get married and pass on the oldest daughter in the next generation. Speaking of traditions, my family also pursue

The consciousness that people have about themselves is part of their identity as well as what makes them unique. According to psychologists, identity is a consistent definition of one’s self as a unique individual, in terms of role, attitudes, beliefs and aspirations. Identity tries to define who people are, what they are, where they go or what they want to be or to do. Identity could depend on self-knowledge, self-esteem, or the ability of individuals to achieve their goals. Through self-analysis people can define who they are and who the people around them
Imagine living in a world where one's identity was defined with an impression of who they are trying to be and not who they really are accepting to be. Identity is something that someone is constantly earning. It is just not who someone is but it is a process that a person must be active in. Philosophers have been struggling for centuries with solve how personal identity manifests itself in people, but they are especially concerned with how it carries over through space-time as a unique portion of the person said identity originates from. Philosophers are concerned with personal identity 's connection to the physiology of human beings because of the immensely physical nature of the world we occupy. The physicalist perspective is also a stronger rational backing because the alternative perspective to the physicalist perspective, the dualist perspective, offers a more complex explanation of the nature of physical identity. If the assumption is made that the dualist view of personal identity and the physicalist view of personal identity both accommodate the how personal identity operates equally well, the simpler view is the more probable view due to the argument made by Occam 's Razor. This argument is that probabilistically speaking, if there are less things need to be taken into consideration for an argument, the likelihood of that argument being true is greater due to the necessity of only one or a few conditions needing to exist. In this paper, a few popular possible arguments for personal identity in relation to human anatomy will be discussed. The equivalence of a person to his/her theory view will be summarized and a counterexample will be provided to attempt to disprove the brain view, this will also be done for the the memory continuity theory. Then,
Since my family lived so close together, we had many family traditions that remain important. We gather for nearly every holiday for a meal and routine. For Easter every year, we have an Easter egg hunt and dinner at my grandmother’s house. For Christmas Eve, we always went to my great-grandparents house and had dinner and exchanged gifts. For Christmas, we celebrated at home, and then went to my grandmother's for breakfast with our cousins. The importance of all of the holidays we celebrated was that no matter what was going on in our lives,
Identity is very complex, everyone has a different definition and a different idea of what identity is. When one talks about personal identity they are usually talking about how they identify themselves and how they feel as a person. Madan Sarup (1996) talks about identity by using the example of a passport. A passport may include a photograph of the person as well as other details including nationality, a person's full name and date-of-birth. While a passport is a form of identity it does not express who you are as a person. It “show's you who you are so that you can be recognized in a bureaucratic sense” (Sarup, 1996). Sarup states “that identity is to do with who one thinks one is, what one believes and what one does”. According to
Just as individuals can vary from culture to culture, so can their use and overall understanding of social location, including what constitutes a social identity depending on the given culture and context. Unfortunately, however, within the context of our American culture—a culture fixated on physicality and its relation to power—social markers, such as gender, race, class, and citizenship, can, ultimately, dictate the level of privilege and/or oppression that a given individual will experience in their lifetime.
Identity is a word that is used very commonly and regularly by people in their daily life. Identity formation is a process of developing distinct, separate identity. “A person’s identity has many attributes. It is a representation of one’s unique personal experience, memory, ethnicity, culture, religious orientation, gender, occupational role, amongst various other factors. Erikson refers to identity as “some belief in the sameness and continuity of some shared world image.”Identity may be defined as one’s consciousness of one self and others’ perception of one’s individuality”, (Yamin, 2008).
We hold many different tradition, beliefs, and rituals that my family practices and they are not only considered on holiday or special occasions but always in general. During Christmas we have many different traditions that we do on this special occasion. With our Christmas traditions we start by having breakfast and opening gifts at my grandmother 's house than we go to my house and have dinner while listening to
