“I am sitting on the shore of my soul” Blue says to himself. The waves break to the rhythm of his heart and send water flowing up the beach front to deliver a chilly “Hello”. He grips his hands to embrace the cold of the water, but still sits in his lonely spot in the sand. Neither he nor anybody within a thousand miles knows how he arrived, but there he was. The sand had dried onto his legs leaving him and his pants in quite a tattered state however he didn’t care, he was listening. He was listening for the calls of creatures of the depths. Eventually the sounds would surface and seemingly cry out, begging to be heard. “I hear the call of you in the water, and for once time is still and I think I prefer it this way” Blue says to himself. …show more content…
“What do you mean, honey bunny?” She replies. “Our house mum, it’s…. Different.” Blue responds, looking out into what appears to be a living room with chairs and couches void of any other person. “Oh, I understand what you mean!” She says while chuckling. “I rearranged the furniture last night, you helped me remember”? Blue just stares at her for a moment, holding back tears. “Oh… Yea. How silly of me, I’ll be right back” Blue replies before backtracking his way to his room. He slides inside and closes the door. Tears begin to flow from his eyes as he slides down to the floor with his back to the door beginning to sob. “Where am I, what happened? This isn’t my life!” Blue thought to himself. Through tears Blue began to observe his room, same layout as the one he remembers but the contents are almost entirely different. Upon his nightstand stood a card, one with a picture of someone all too familiar, his grandmother. He wiped away the tears and scurried over to the card. He grasped it in two fingers and began to read what was written inside. “I hope you’re enjoying Illinois, I know it’s far away but remember I’m only a phone call away!” The picture attached was of his grandmother standing with him In front of the house he knew as home. Blue stares at this image while sitting upon his bed for quite some time, slowly realizing what is going on. “I’m in… a new timeline?” He thinks to himself. The happiness brought by his epiphany begins to
White foam spreads across a carpet of clear blue. The carpet rises, and the foam curves off the back and crashes to the ground. It travels back across a desert of sand and repeats its actions. The morning sun meets the surface, bouncing off and chasing the reflection of the birds flying. Screams of excitement run past me, their bodies wading into the deep blue. Fiberglass skimming across the top, breaking the perfect surface. There was no looking back now. My heart jumps as i follow closely behind. My arms moving fast, diving deep into the warm liquid. Eager to get to the Hawaiian Dives. We start to slow, the sharp, brown rock, marks the bottoms of my feet as i run across. My hands grip onto the rock as i throw my body up to stand. You could see everything from up there.
A bitter breeze makes its way down the lake until it reaches the shoreline. As I am looking towards Ruby Island I feel an algid whip hit my face, sending shivers through my spine. An astonishment of nippy air gives me goose bumps causing my arm hairs to stick up like soldiers ready to scuffle away the bitterness. I saunter towards the end of the wharf , clinching my fists tightly in my pockets to keep the coolness of the air from touching my fingers. With every step I take, I can feel my feet sliding beneath me from the metal wiring that covers the hard wooden surface.Being very cautious trying not slip into the ferocious wavy water I take a peek at what is beneath. The waves no longer look inviting like were six months ago. Instead, they look sharp and snappy enough to freeze a soul. As I am scanning the rugged surface of the lake, something catches my eye.
The voice of the sea is seductive, never ceasing, whispering, clamoring, murmuring, inviting the soul to wander in abysses of solitude.
Strolling down a beaten dirt trail with green mossy trees on either side. A soft breeze brushes a kiss against my cheek, as it pushes past, earth mixing with sea salt hits my nose. Soon the faint sound of waves kissing the shore, children’s laughter, and seagulls screeching calls to me. Walking along the winding dirt trail until the texture beneath my toes change. The trees part and on either side the trees rise into the air, becoming cliffs as far as my eyes can see. Instead of dirt beneath my feet it has been replaced by sand in between my toes. I walk towards the white cap waves where the water washes up against my ankles excitedly and then pulls back with remorse. Sea mist leaves a moist kiss against my cheeks and then
She looked down at the coffee table to see a brown box filled with a few things. On top, she could see some family photos in gold color frames. “Thank you,” she said to him. She walked over to her father’s chair and sat down. She became aware of an uneasy feeling around him and wanted as far away from him as possible. It may have come from her dad complaining about him for a long time. She was now wishing for her uncle to show
He had already packed everything he wanted to take with him, but left most of his possessions unpacked as he feared it would be a reminder of his previous life. As he was packing his items into his car, his neighbor Mr. Lauterbach came outside and noticed Arthur packing his things. “Hello Mr. Raeburn!” Greeted Mr. Lauterbach. “Why are you packing up your things?” Arthur was caught by surprise at first, he hadn’t thought about being seen by his neighbor. “I’m packing for a road trip,” lied Arthur, “I’ll be staying at a log cabin up north for a few days.” “I see. Well, I don’t want to be late for the bus now, so I’ll talk to you some more when you get back from your vacation!” Said Mr. Lauterbach. He started walking down the sidewalk towards the bus stop, and Arthur began packing quicker so he wouldn’t be caught by anymore people. After packing his things, Arthur got into his car, and started it. Pulling out of his driveway, he took a deep breath, knowing that this would be the last time he would see the town he grew up in. He began driving down the street, seeing everybody he pass smile and wave at him. However, he didn’t smile or wave back, as he had already abandoned his old life and began his new one. After he got out of town, he realized something. His depressing old life is nothing but the past; therefore, so are his sad memories. He had no reason to be sad anymore and felt something he hasn’t felt in ages, and that feeling is happiness. Nobody has heard from Mr. Raeburn
Watching the water glistening and shining was always so peaceful. Your arms rested upon an old wooden railing, which creaked with every movement. You leaned forward to watch a fish leap out of the water, flying into the air for a moment, before returning to the lake. As you heard the loud creaking of the railing, you tried to lean back, but before you knew it you’d lost your footing and felt yourself plunged into the lake’s depths, a scream escaping your lips before water surrounded you.
“Speaking of excited, I know you asked to see Carly and Pamela. Go, and be a good girl.”
The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace (Ch. 6, p. 13).
As the powerful abyss consumes my convulsing body, my arms and legs propel me through the dark emptiness. The sloshing water lapping my ears, drowns out the sounds of the rushing water above, as I break to the surface. Tackling the sunlit board with one arm and hauling my limp body aboard the smooth, water-beaded paddleboard, a calmness immediately claims me, as I gaze above to the piercing blue sky. As I regain my footing on the wobbling yellow board, I can feel the sun’s rays dance over my skin and dry the water that cascades down my soaking frame. Leaning back and plunging the paddle within the depths of the Colorado River, my sinewy arms mechanically take shape, and thrust me forward.
Rays of pale sunlight pass through a gradient of cerulean blue. The wide-open space seems almost eerie until a humpback whale gently swimming sings his song, and the space fills with wonder, until a disturbance arises.
When Heather gets home she immediately plays with the dials and buttons. As she was playing around the telephone starts making noses, not long after she hears a loud “bang”. Heather thought at first she was just hallucinating but later realized she was moving, so fast you could barely tell. Then it just stopped, everything stopped. She was in a different place and a different time period too. When she checked her phone it was only 2 o’clock and Heater got out of work at 5 o’clock. After a little looking around she realized was in California. Frightened, yet excited for a new adventure, Heather was able to figure out the numbers she was playing with; it was the town’s zip
One day a beautiful young woman was bathing at the edge of the sea. She always came to the same spot behind her cottage. It had always reminded her of her handsome husband that had passed away. It was the 5 year anniversary of her husbands death and the weather matched her mood. She knew she should have stayed home with the warm fire burning but she had to come to the seaside, it was calling to her as usual. As she approached the water she saw a glimmer of something out of the corner of her eye. She had always felt that the sea spoke to her but today was different. She turned to go back to her cottage and the warmth when she felt something on her feet. As she looked down she saw the sea serpent starting to wrap around her ankles. She gently tried to untangle the sea serpent figuring it was just confusing her for food. The sea serpent just started to wrap tighter and tighter. the young woman tried again, this time talking gently also to the sea
The boy sat down on the beach. He looked around only to see a blue blanket. The large waves crashed on the ground, and he stood up. His sharp and spiky hair stroked a plan tree. He turned around to see a invisible thread on his face. He looked closer, and the sun light reflected of the thread. The thread felt like silk, as he slowly passed through it. In confusion he turned around to see what it really was. He looked around and saw a big black block. The black block had several dots on its face. The long legs swooped down the invincible thread. The boy walked away. His cut pants stroked the ground. The block moved back into the thread. Then he stubbled backwards on his feet. His eyes strained. He stood up slowly, and jumped backwards. He looked at the large block, and then walked away. He again sat down on the beach. The sparkling sand glistened in the sun. The blue tropical ocean had large reefs. The tiny fish swam under the large ocean arks. Blue, red, green, and yellow fish swam past each other grouping as they go.
I take a deep breath, my nostrils are filled with the pleasant aroma of the salty sea air. This is my happy place, this is where I belong. As I sit with my freshly painted pink toes in the sand, I am overwhelmed with all that is happening around me. To my right, there is a family of four; a mother, father, and two little red headed girls that look like twins, laughing and jumping around, taking in the big world around them. The children are in their bright red and purple flowered bathing suits, running and screaming, attempting to get their toes wet in the chilly water that churns back and forth on the shore. After a few attempts they decide to run and jump full force into the crystal clear abyss, unaware of what creatures they could find if they dive deep enough.
