To end the stereotyping and doubt that police officers have toward African Americans, the participants of the event should incorporate Xavier students, personnel and staff, Xavier University Police Department, and randomly chosen African Americans and police officers in Cincinnati. The random selection will be done online, where African Americans who are interested in attending the event would sign up online. Afterward, they will be chosen at random and will be later informed that they have been selected. Similarly, the names of the Cincinnati police will be selected at random. The random selection will eliminate bias. It is also essential that Xavier students and Xavier Police be available in order to construct a bond between the two. Their presence is important in the dialogue so as to prevent incidents like that of Tamir Rice from happening at Xavier. Furthermore, in order to guarantee full participation, I recommend that the Xavier Administration make this event a no class day and make it mandatory. Students should likewise be given some sort of encouragement to attend the event. For example, Xavier can sponsor for every student who attends the event to have a free dinner at the …show more content…
They can do this by providing security for the event and collaborating with on campus identity clubs such as the Black Students Association and the African Students Association so that these clubs can encourage their members to attend the event. In addition, the Xavier administration should make a video promoting the event. In order to reach a large number of audiences, the video should be posted on various social media, played in the cafeteria, and even televised in the Cincinnati region. The event should take place in the Cintas Center arena. This is due to fact that the arena is able to hold 10, 250 individuals (Cintas Center of Xavier
In Greensboro area, there are a lot of communities that can provide assistance to an older adult at different level. My patient is n general an independent one in all aspects of her life and she would like to be in control in everything regarding her life. She is leaving in her nice apartment by herself but in the same time she enjoy being in company of other people, especially people on her age or closer. Therefore, I consider that the best community for her to attend will be a day care community, where she can go almost every day and she can spend some quality time with other older adults. I chose a day care community because I know she needs company to avoid episodes of depression that she has occasionally, accordingly with what she told me at one of my visits. Also, at the day care, besides all the activities that are organized there she can benefit of medical assistance in case of need, and meals

I graduated high school back in 1994. I was engaged to be married in just two years, and even though I joined the Pennsylvania Air National Guard right after graduation it was only one weekend a month and two weeks out of the year. So I needed a full-time job. A friend of the family knew a guy who was opening a second store, and was going to need a store manager. I took the job and got started. What I didn’t know was the guy I was just hired to work for was a little confused as to what he wanted. I hung onto the job for a little over a year hoping it would turn around but, no dice.
During Round 1 of our 3-year WDQI grant, we were able to match workforce participants in the One Stop Management Information System (OSMIS) with students in Center for Education Performance Information’s (CEPI’s) databases, and then download their Unique Identification Code into the OSMIS system. From a 2-year group of education exiters, we were able to link their interactions within the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and their wage record outcome data. We generated 24 reports designed to answer 7 Core Questions; 8 of the reports are available to the general public on mischooldata.org (Workforce section), and all 24 reports are being used by our partners in the Labor Market Information group to generate white papers, which will be completed by September 30, 2015. NOTE: The participants that we were able to link must have visited a Michigan Works! service center, which means the output data is biased and not reflective of the general population as a whole.
The purpose of this dissertation isto assess the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) care continuum. This dissertationwill focuson addressing the gap in current research by improving understanding of the impacts of the ACA on care for individuals living with HIV. It is estimated that over 1 million Americans live with HIV (Kates, 2012). Though the number of HIV infections has stabilized at around 50,000 annually, there are reports of new strains of HIV arising among homosexuals (Kates, 2012). People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) are less likely to be insured due to low socio-economic status (SES), therefore, rely on Medicaid for insurance coverage. Statistics indicate that only 25% of PLWHA are virally
Responsiveness to Identified Needs: Standard is met when FPO assists in negotiating or clarifying appropriate performance and operational goals, as demonstrated in LMI grant activities such as, but not limited to, the following:
In the year 2013, I started being my dad’s personal assistant for his own company. This has provided me with leadership skills. It has also helped me solved disputes between the owner and the clients. I listen to what the clients want and I try to help the owner and them come to an agreement about what has to be done. Especially doing everything in a good manner so the client is sacrifice with what they are getting. It is good to help solve the disputes that way the client knows that what they are getting is good quality material. Since he does not speak very fluent english I go with him to meet the clients whenever they ask for a translator. The first couple of times I went with him were very difficult for me because I was a very shy person.
To begin with, part of my job is to write or compose programming code which is systematically on it's own. Provided that, as part of the team conducted the measurement. The project that I can think of as the most broad case where we applied a scientific method throughout the organization was the search for proper and efficient solution to handle incoming support request sent to the IT department. Prior to implementing the ticketing system, IT support request are posted via email through an email group that includes all members of the IT department. This has been the standard procedure for years, it has worked well and preferred by many staff. That said, our organization has hired several employees, redefined departments and increase individual

I put a lot of time thinking about who I wanted to interview for this assignment. Not only did I want to network with other individuals on campus, I also wanted to learn about their everyday experiences. I interviewed Schelzia Ross, who is the Associate Director of TRIO at UW-Waukesha. I chose to interview Schelzia because she works with a specific population of students that I am interested in, first generation.
Walmart currently employees more that 2 million people worldwide in their more than 10,000 retail stores, strategically located in 27 different countries worldwide (Walmart Inc., 2013). In 2012 the company reported earning well over 400 billion dollars (Walmart Inc., 2013; "Walmart- Refocus," 2006). Here in the third week of the needs assessment being conducted on behalf of our client Sams’s Club a division of Walmart Inc., the focus surrounds the collection and its analysis. Following the collection of data and a meeting was held with Sam’s Club management and a recommendation was made based on this analysis.
African American should not always be perceived as offenders, and policemen do not have to always be perceived as merciless. The event is also financially savvy as the assessed cost for the entire occasion to occur is an estimated cost of 11,000 dollars (Nutter Center). To make my proposal effective, it should be implemented February 5 from 8:00 am to 3:00pm. As an African American, I trust that the event will help the relationship between the police men and African Americans living in Dayton stronger than it was before. They will able to coexist peacefully and hopefully African Americans trust in the law enforcement system. Therefore, my proposed idea should be
Thus far we have largely been focusing on the logistics and bureaucratic aspects of preparing to begin research. Professor Barwick, Aashwin, Akrit, Prawesh and I met to discuss when our schedules align for collaborative work. We determined that Thursday afternoons would best suit the majority of us for working in the labs, and that we would all meet at a different point in the week--likely Monday mornings--to discuss our progress. During that meeting, we also visited the lab spaces again and discussed what each area would be used for.
I have always been interested in data, but the thought of processing data intimidates me. I think it scares me because there is a lot of data out there and I wouldn’t know what to do with all of the data. I feel like I would spend more time organizing the data, than I would actually processing into something useful. Then I learned in this week’s lecture that I should not be as intimidated as I am because it’d just data and much of the data collected without a strategy is useless. Too much data is not a good thing because it slows down the whole operations. Company should conduct a strategy first and figure out what they want the data to tell them before conducting any form of research. Once you have the key metric is completed, you can start
Completing the “Attitudes Necessary for Getting and Keeping a Job” and filling out the scoring on the back, none of the attitudes about myself surprised me at all. Scoring high and relatively close in number between all the attitudes, it looks as any organization will be enlightened to have me as an employee. The attitude score I agreed with the most was on my attitude toward assuming self-leadership. Scoring 10/10 on questions 1, 2, and 3, it reflects on my self-motivation, and self-sufficiency. I believe highly in self-leadership, that is why I always motivate myself toward greater achievement, never looking for the help from my manager for help on achieving things for myself. I look at myself, bettering myself, learning and applying different
