1.1 Review the range of groups and individuals whose communication needs must be addressed in own job role
Person centred values are treating people as individuals, supporting their choices, treating them with dignity and respect, working in partnership with people rather than trying to control them.
1, Understand the importance of promoting equality and diversity in work with children and young people.
As a practitioner it’s your duty to observe and maintain correct procedures to ensure that the children are offered a stimulating environment which will further allow optimum possibilities for development. All those who work with or amongst children and young people have a crucial role to play in helping not only to shape aspects of their lives, but to also aid in enhancing their future development. Therefore it can be stated that how we set up our own working practices can affect children and young people’s development, as will be identified by this essay; below are areas where one should concentrate in order to further
Review the range of groups and individuals whose communication needs must be addressed in own job role.
There are times when we need to adapt our communication style to meeting the needs of individuals and use aids to help them enhance their communication.

Prevent discrimination: support equality – This sector of the act explains where discrimination is most likely to occur in the workplace and how to stop it happening

2.3 You can show how and when to seek advice about communication if you feel unsure about something, maybe a physical incident may have taken place which worried you, maybe something was thrown at you. Sometimes complex cases need extra assistance and help can be sought by talking to your peers, line managers, the individuals carer. A line manager or supervisor can help advise on specialist organisations who offer expert advice and services, as it is best not to think or second guess that you can manage the situation by yourself especially if you do not have the necessary skill set to deal with certain communication problems. Professional duty to ensure individuals receive the very best care and support is essential to provide the best service you can for them.
Some people use glasses, if it is a child; we have to make sure they are clean. Provide a large print is also helpful. If necessary let a child sit closer. We allow children to touch the things to give them idea how they look. For blind people we provide material in Brile language.

As a care assistant effective communication is a vital skill in the workplace, on an everyday basis. I use all of these below to help promote and ensure the wellbeing of all service users and my colleagues.
1.4 Analyse reasons why an individual may use a form of communication that is not based on formal language.
Discrimination, it is such a strong word that has many meanings. It can be referred to “as the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex (Merriam-Webster).” It is a topic that most people do not want to face the facts that people still have to face discrimination in the workplace to this very day. “Since 2011, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission [EEOC] has received over 45,000 complaints that are directly related to racial discrimination (Gaille, 2017).” Discrimination should be a thing of the past it should not be an issue that someone has to get up every day and face in their place of work. We need to learn how to treat each other based their own personality instead of a group as a whole. Discrimination is not a dirty world and once people learn to not be so afraid of talking about it and learning how to address it, then discrimination in the workplace will become a thing of the past, where it belongs.
