1. Why did I choose to join the Greek community?
Thorough out my high school career I was extremely involved on campus. Whether it was community service, philanthropy, or even just a club for fun I would always do my best to stay/get involved with any organization on campus. That is one of the main reason I choose to become a member of the Greek community. Being able to stay involved and continue to make my community better place through the Greek community has and will continue to be a driving factor in my life.
2. What is “success” to me?
Success to me is being able to leave behind something you feel proud of, and being able to gain valuable experience in the process. Whether you are leaving something for the day or leaving something

Through my experiences with philanthropic work I realize the commitment it takes. I also understand the outcome and the feeling you get knowing you have been a part of something bigger than yourself. Growing up in a small town I have grown accustomed to the idea of helping others. Every year my hometown puts together a philanthropy event called DUCK Week. DUCK Week stands for Doing Unselfish Charities for Kids. It is a weeklong philanthropy event where we as a community come together and help a family in need. DUCK Week started when I was in kindergarten and has grown as I have progressed through school. When I reached my first year in high school I was really able to participate the most in DUCK Week. I was involved in several committees including finance and technology. Being a part of these committees allowed me to get in on the ground floor and assist with the moths of planning that went into DUCK Week. When I reached my senior year I was defiantly able to look back and be proud of the work we had done. At our peak we were able to raise $170,000. Philanthropy is something I have first hand experience with and I know how much the outcome can help people. That I why I fell I best fit into the
I would define success as achieving a goal that you set out for. The three most important things on John Wooden's Pyramid of Success are Confidence, Condition and Fight. These create success in many ways. If you have confidence to win you will always win or come very close. If your team is in condition you will be able to outwork the other team and be success. And if you willing to fight to win then you will be successful in every accept of life. I thought these were important because of how the sports I play I use all of these to be successful in these and in life in general.

My name is AJ Franklin and today I'm informing you about the doctrine of Ethos. The ancient Greek ' doctrine of Ethos' encouraged a great change in the previous methods of music instruction. The doctrine is still relevant today. The doctrine is still explored the influence of sound on human behavior, character, and emotion. Some music evokes feelings of happiness, some sorrow, some rage, some mental concentration, some lethargy, and some other emotions. Greek Doctrine of Ethos is still relevant today for many reasons.
Now I can say for the successful When Athens began to emerge as a Greek city state in the ninth century, it was a poor city, built on and surrounded by undesirable land, which could support only a few poor crops and olive trees. As it grew it was forced to import much of its food, and while it was near the centre of the Greek world, it was far from being a vital trading juncture like Corinth. Its army was, by the standards of cities such as Sparta,
I think the most significant contribution of Greek culture can't be just simplified down to just one thing. There are various contributors from Greek culture. You have the Olympics which was a type of competition that is done every four years. Teams from all over the world to compete in various events that pushes the competitors to the limit for the change to win a gold medal for their country. Another example of a significant contribution would be Greek mythology. Mythology is pretty ingrained in our culture, whether it's the old myths featuring likes of Hercules appearing in movies, comic books ,Video games ect. It's hard to have grown up without being at least a tiny bit familiar with Mythology. Lastly I feel like Democracy is one of the
Planet Earth really is an amazing place to explore, as there are so many different locations around the world to explore, and there are many different countries and cultures to see. The country that I will be exploring is Greece, a gorgeous Mediterranean country. I will be planning to take a flight. I will be departing from Newark Liberty International Airport on April 9, 2015, which will cost $1,150. I will be arriving in Athens via the overnight flight. In total, it will be a thirteen-day trip. Day 1 will be the day I board my flight. Day 2 will be the day that I arrive in Athens; I will be staying there for 3 nights. Day 3 will be a sightseeing tour of Athens, in which a local tour guide will introduce me to the highlights of the town that is home to the world’s first democracy. We will tour the Ancient Acropolis, the site of the Parthenon, and the Temple Athena Nike. The 6th century Temple of Zeus, and also the home of the Greek Parliament, which is the Old Royal Palace will be visited. I will pass through the Syntagma Square to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as
Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. When people accomplish small tasks leading up to a purpose they feel successful like: completing short term goals and pursuing long term goals. Eventually finding a career in their path for what they want to do. People choose how they want to pursue their dreams, whether by experience or education. They can accomplish anything if they try, and ultimately define
Explain with definitions and examples the concept of culture and elaborate on the barriers to becoming culturally competent communicators.
Greek (social) organizations have acquired a bad reputation for displaying aggressive behaviors, high sexual assault, and members getting jobs based off affiliations. With all of these elements thrown in these social organizations, there is still a high percentage of college students joining. Why are student’s propensity to join these social organization over career organizations high? Greek organizations operate under secrecy and validation from others. They develop their sense of belonging by the approval of others, and based off the fact that not everyone can join solidifies the value of ranking members’ approval even more. Secrecy does not exist in terms of leadership because effective leadership is always transparent. Being able to apply

Democracy became a significant way of life from 700 B.C. to the present. Around this time, the Athenians from Greece dispersed around the world and carried their way of life with them. It is a government ruled by the citizens. Cleisthenes, who was a greek ruler, incorporated the first democracy in history. Democracy developed with the ethical principles in ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy, Judeo/Christians teaching, and the England feudal system.
Buildings can give you message about a culture. A style of building is a Greek temple, this gives you a message about the Greek gods and the Greek’s culture. This one building can give you a lot of information about the Greek’s history and religion. Many types of buildings can communicate messages about religion. Indian temples have statues of the gods and those gods can give you meaningful messages about what is right and what is wrong. This can help people from other cultures learn about another culture that they do not know about. Many important historical messages can come from cultural buildings like without the Indian culture and the cultural buildings, Gandhi might not have stood up to the British and saved India. Cultural messages form
An individualistic society gives greater weight to personal achievements and individual rights, as opposed to a collectivist society where the individual sees herself through the achievements of the group in which he/she belongs (family, friends, club, etc.) and in which the individual owes dedication
