Transformative learning is basically changing the way one thinks, feels, acts, and sees life now, as opposed to the past. It can have a small or huge impact on the way they see different aspects of their life. The four stages of the transformative learning process are: Recognizing a specific problem – this is when one would decide if there is a need for change. They would recognize that there is a problem and specifically what it is. Confronting the problem intensely – They would then avoid apprehension and immediately confront the problem, while remembering to consider all possible solutions.

This is my fourth semester attending Lamar Institute of Technology. The thing that seemed to be most difficult was that most students are not offered outside opinions on teachers and the classes offered. It seems like a challenge due to the fact that as students he or she does not know what he or she are getting into.

One ethnic group in which I and my family belong to is Norwegian. According to my father I am 50 percent Norwegian and this is very interesting to me. There are many different types of animals that work for us. There are three types of service animals that help the disabled. Guide animals assist the blind, hearing animals signal the deaf, and there are many other animals that help persons with other disabilities. Another way that animals work for us is by providing emotional support to those with mental health issues. For this week’s discussion board question I decide to go out and try to find details about a person and see if I could get them to let me use their phone. I thought that this would be a challenge and people would be very unlikely to trust a stranger who they didn’t know and expected to be rejected multiple times. I also thought this would be difficult for me because I am a very introverted person and don’t feel comfortable talking to people if I don’t know them. Amazingly, it was very easy to do and on my first try I was able to get someone to let me use their phone.

I am originally from California I spent more than 15 years of my life there and I still have family living that lives there now. I have lived in a few states Montana, Texas, Utah and Washington of course.

The provider had an authorization on file approving the dental services advising that they were medically necessary. But when the provider billed, they only advised the services were dental and not medical. Therefore causing the claim to deny. Also, provider didn’t reference their authorization number in box 63 of their claim form which would have voided the claim from denying. This claim will be sent back to be reprocessed. When I first took the test to see what I scored, I was surprised with many of my results.

I am a highly quantitative person and I appreciate when people bring numbers with their analysis. I love to use probabilities to measure the possible outcomes of my decisions, even when they are non-work-related. According to Pythagoras, “All things are numbers” and I completely agree with these words, so before scheduling a meeting, send in advance any quantitative analysis you may have done. Additionally, I am a very visual person and I understand better when I see something, so please try writing down your ideas before scheduling a meeting;

Right from the beginning of this course I had a terrible feeling that I was not going to learn what I had to or finish it with a good grade. It all began when I found out that I had to be in contact with an administrator in order to obtain the data needed to complete the final project. Dirksen (2014) wrote that one should never give up, even when everything seems against you. That is exactly what I did. I tried and fortunately, I was able to find help, gain a lot of knowledge from the material I had to read, good advices from my assistant principal, and learn how analyze school data in detail and put together a Data-Driven Decision Making Team together (3D). Also, and probably the most important, I learned to think more like a leader than a teacher.

The concept of multiple intelligence all together is a favorite of mine. The first quote you mentioned from Howard Gardner is brilliant. In my personal opinion, I think that supporting a wide variety of intelligences is a strong point of mine. However, no one is perfect and we all always tend to lean toward our own intelligence strengths. My strengths from the assessment were: bodily kinesthetic, interpersonal and existential. I have had numerous lessons on Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligences, yet have never officially seen a ninth one. I have heard it mentioned that a ninth intelligence was in planning, but I had never seen it before. It is a wonderful addition, especially since it applies to me. However, I feel that bodily kinesthetic more largely describes me. Since bodily kinesthetic is higher activity wise, it is easier for me to come down to meet the needs of children with different intelligences. This is just a personal opinion, but I believe that having an intelligence strength that is calmer and more put together (logical mathematical or verbal) would be harder to branch out to meet the needs of the more complex and less recognized intelligences (naturalist, musical or spatial). That is just me going out on a limb and pondering the idea though. However, coming down to meet a more logical and concert thinker might be more of a challenge than it seems.
