Statement of Purpose “The desire of knowledge increases ever with the acquisition of it.” - Laurence Sterne I still remember my joy as a six year old when the first computer arrived at my school. We were to stand in a line and type in our names into it. The sense of satisfaction for having done it without any flaws was unbelievable. It is at that point the computer bug bit me. Right from my childhood, I have always been an inquisitive person, a voracious reader who has raised the question “Why does this happen?” With this desire to learn and after an eventful journey, I wish to pursue my graduate studies in Computer Science with a concentration on Machine Learning at University of Texas at Austin. Having taken Computer Science as a high school elective and after securing a good rank in the highly competitive All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE), I joined National Institute of Technology, Rourkela to complete my undergraduate studies majoring in Computer Science. The disciplined and in-depth systematic course at NIT Rourkela has provided me with a solid ground in the …show more content…
I was a regular participant in Olympiads and other competition in my school days, was even awarded the NTSE grant by the Indian Government. I participated and won prizes in several activities like Linux Troubleshooting, Computer Science Paper Presentation, etc. organized in the campus during under-graduation. Being an active member of the Robotics Club at the institute, I was involved in several projects being implemented by the club. I was also bestowed with the responsibilities of organising several events for the club as well as teaching and guiding the newly inducted freshmen in the club. These experiences have imbibed the spirit of leadership and teamwork in me. Being part of the National Service Scheme (NSS) at NIT and CSR group at SAP I took part in community services and these
The excitement of the fast-paced technology world peaked my interest throughout my high school career. As a member of my high school’s FIRST Robotics Club, designing and creating the desired motion of our robot was an eye-opening experience. After my involvement in robotics, I took it upon myself to register for an online AP Computer Science Class and to take advantage of a work study program with the information technology department. I strive to gain a knowledge base that will allow me to be a leader in the forefront of technological advancement: taking risks, improving lives, and changing the world.
After carefully evaluating my skills, interests, aptitude and academic background, I have decided to pursue MS in Computer Science. I am a research enthusiast/Being a research enthusiast , and I /I would like to embark upon my journey to become a successful researcher through Master Program from University of Florida, Gainesville.
Also, through an in depth analysis of two genres that computer scientists use, I was able to learn about some of the technicalities and logistics of the science. In addition, I discovered the importance of prompts and technical articles they are used to guide and teach people of this community of the different methods available for problem solving. An examination of the learning objectives for this community also provided information about the many important qualities that are important for people of this major like communication and knowledge in other
Being chosen to represent all my project teams and my participation in organizing college events had taught me to be a better team player with the ability to step up as a leader. I had also interned at NTPC to familiarize myself with a professional environment and this engendered a confidence in me.

“The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.” – Brian Herbert
Computer science has taken the world like a storm. There is no way one can escape the importance of computer science as it has permeated almost all industries, helping them grow; be it in the field of production, management, marketing, research, data management, vendor management, after sales service and many other aspects. It is for this and several other countless reasons that I believe that I have made the right choice by aspiring to be a computer professional and I want to learn the skills associated with the field with you. Since universities in the US provide a vast range of subjects to choose from and have a flexible schedule, students are attracted towards
At Nirma, I had the good fortune of having a well-compiled syllabus, which placed equal emphasis on theoretical fundamentals as well as practical applications. Subjects such as Computer Architecture, Analog and Digital Communication, Analysis and Design Algorithms, Theory of Automaton and Formulating Languages laid a solid foundation in the theoretical aspects of the subjects. Practical application aspects were introduced to me through subjects such as Object Oriented Software Engineering, Data Structures, Database Management Systems, Computer Networking, Cloud Computing. The areas, which are of special interest to me, centered on Computer Networks, Software Engineering, and Database Management
“The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me”. This quote inspired me a lot from my childhood as when we have the right content to compete, then there is no force which could stop us from achieving it.
I am Ishani shah. My father is a business man while my mother is a house maker. I have one brother who is 4years younger than me. He has completed his HSC major in commerce. Right now he is studying BBA in LJ college.
Data science, as an illustrious application in Statistics, is my direction in career. The four-year study in applied math motivates me to take the challenge of pursuing a master's degree in statistics. In addition, my aspiration to become a professional data analyst also gives the graduate study an absolute necessity.
It is no secret that I enjoy a good challenge. Right from early days at school, Mathematics has intrigued me. Challenging problems are my favorites and obtaining solutions to them always leaves me with a sheer feeling of ecstasy. I always did and always will thrive on solving the most challenging problems. When I was introduced to programming in C++ in high school, I knew I had found my calling. This encouraged me to take up an undergraduate program in Computer Engineering at Amity University Dubai. While this offered me a broad overview of the limitless possibilities the field has to offer, I would like a pursue a more specialized degree in software engineering. This leads me to apply for an M.S Computer
It was during the final year of my under graduation that the above lines from Robert Frost’s “The Road not Taken” ran through my mind everyday as I kept thinking about my plans following the completion of my undergraduate studies. I had two choices – 1.To pursue graduate studies 2.To take up a job offer in many
My decision to undertake a master’s degree stems from my aspiration to have greater knowledge about Computer Science, an avid interest in the field of Software Engineering and a stimulating research environment present at the University of Pennsylvania. By pursuing a graduate degree, I will be able to strengthen my knowledge base and also further my career prospects.
I am passionate to pursue courses and research in Computer Networks and Database Management systems. I foresee a major upheaval in the above-related fields and would like to be a part of the information revolution that has transformed our way of life. As AI comes of age, I see intelligent systems replacing the existing ones in the areas of networking and DBMS. I am delighted at the prospect of taking up courses in these fields and being a part of any research activity in the above-mentioned areas.
