In 476 CE Odoacer overthrows Romulus Augustulus, finalizing the end of the Roman Empire. After the Roman time, the dark age took over, it was called the dark ages not only because of the lack of written sources but also because of the nasty short and brutal lives of the time. Some thought that the dark ages were a necessary evil, to get rid of slavery. The Eastern half not only survived after the fall of Rome but flourished. The Eastern empire continued to thrive and build monuments under the rule of Justinian Ⅰ. Even though no longer part of a Roman civilization, western people still thought of themselves as Roman. After the battle of Hadrianople in 378 CE Gothic immigrants went through a two step plan to that would create the successor
Several hundred thousands years after the Big Bang, the stars began to light up the dark universe. As the universe expanded, it got colder and darker and less like a place that might produce things like heavier chemicals, plants, and animals. This period of the history of the universe was called the Dark Ages. During the Dark Ages, a lot of atoms was flowing through space, which contained 75% hydrogen with one portion and about 25% helium with two protons. Some areas in the universe were just slightly hotter and denser than others, and gravity magnified those differences. As gravity increased, the whole thing was clumping faster. At the center of each of those clouds of atoms, atoms began to bang into each other more violently and heat up particularly
Chop! Chop! You hear as they behead large amounts of people using a guillotine also nicknamed the “national razor”. This machine was invented by, Dr. Joseph Ignace Guillotin, which consisted of a heavy weighted angled blade that would slide down and behead the person who was sentenced to death. People liked the invention because it was fast, efficient, and painless. This was the beginning of the eighteen month period known as the Reign of Terror. It started when the horrible leader, King Louis the sixteenth was guillotined at the public square on January 21st of 1793. This era was led by Maximilien Robespierre and he believed that the government was there to protect the peaceful citizens. If anyone said anything negative about the way they
During the Renaissance time period, each man and woman needed to strive to meet the “ideal” image that was expected by society. If this image was not met, the person would be judged by society. Both males and females had different goals that they needed to meet in education, as well as in their lives. While there was an “ideal” image, some people disagreed with them. There was always a distinct role for both women and men, but within those roles, there could be controversy. The most controversy could occur over the education that the males and females were getting, there were clear roles and ideals for men and women in the beginning of the Renaissance time period, but as time went on, people became more skeptical of the
to 800 C.E. called the Dark Ages. This fall was due to the invasion by the Barbarians, and since there was no central government to provide protection against these attacks, people began looking to powerful lords and knights for help. This was a time of despair as violence erupted and education became virtually obsolete. Classical Greeks and Roman texts were lost, and the majority of the population could not go to school and therefore were illiterate. In addition, due to the plundering of cities, most people were peasants or farmers. However, it was the Islamic Civilization that reintroduced new ideas and cultural improvements into society. Although some historians
During the 400-1400 CE, there were barbarians and Vikings that killed many people, plagues that were fatal, and cruelty that was all around. Yet that wasn’t the only things that happened. A dark age is a time of cultural decline. In spite of the cruelty, there were many good things like a judicial system, schools and education, and architectural advancements in gothic cathedrals.
From the year 476AD, after the last Emperor Romulus Augustulus (as displayed in source 2) of the Western Roman Empire was overthrown by European barbarians, the Roman World was greatly affected, as it was now Medieval Rome. The reason of the collapse was due to civil wars breaking out among the greedy rich competing to become emperor. Many people were killed fighting against each other with various weapons, one of them being the bullets depicted in source 3. Eventually the population began to decline and the taxes increase. Various barbarian clans (as listed in source 4) were conquering many cities and the political, financial and social structure problems led to the complete collapse after a long complicated process as represented all together
The Reign of Terror seemed to be the only thing that could help achieve some sort of equality between the Three Estates. Before the Reign of Terror, the Third Estate was the most financially unstable out of all three estates. Despite this, they were the only one burdened with the mandatory payment of taxes. Due to Louis XVI’s constant spending and a horrible drought, food prices rose and the entire country was deep in debt, with the Third Estate struggling more and more at every occasion he carelessly gave out currency. With no other options, people decided to take up arms against the Revolution. Every riot or problem that revolutionaries caused was most likely justified in some way because their needs were never accounted for. The Reign of Terror was justified.
A giant crowd stands packed together in a square eagerly watching a guillotine blade fall. They chant a name, the name of a man grabbing a decapitated head by the hair and swinging it around for all to see with a morbid grin on his face. This man’s name is shouted in the streets, making him famous for his violent acts. The people have turned into a pack of wolves only craving the next kill, the next bloodshed. This brutal time during French history was spearheaded by Maximilien Robespierre following the overthrow of the French monarch King Louis XVI. The people of France despised their absolute monarch because of the bankruptcy of the government, his continued overspending, and the unfair tax laws he established. The savage period of time

The 18th century was just the beginning where it displayed the true connotation of the United States. The puzzle was revolved around past events that lead to the Civil War.It appeared that the Union was beginning to deteriorate.Nevertheless,South Carolina was the first in line to secede from the puzzle in 1860 where Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas,Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina and Tennessee followed that path one year later. From the issues of slavery to formal dialogues concerning the North and the South that ascended to settlements of both sides, the United States appeared inaudibly to be fabricating into one realm.
The era from about 500 to 1000 C.E. is sometimes referred to as the "Dark Ages" in European history, partly because many aspects of the Roman civilization were lost, such as written language, advanced architectural and building techniques, complex government, and access to long-distance trade. For the most part, these early people of Europe

In the West, Rome fell at the hands of the invading Goths in 476; plunging into the Dark Ages, and entering a time of ignorance and a lack of social progress. The East became known as the Byzantine Empire, which continued to persist and flourish until the capture of Constantinople by the Turks in 1453.
