D-9. Equipment Requests: a. MTOE Equipment/Not on RTI TDA (156R): The S-4 completes and processes the 156R based on information contained in the Course Resource Packet submitted by the Senior Small Group Leader/Course Manager. The S-4 provides a copy of the 156R to the Senior Small Group Leader/Course Manager and a copy to S-3 for filing. b. Organizational and Operational Equipment: Each specific requirement must be addressed in detail on the course resource packet. Attach pages as required to the course resource packet to ensure all necessary items required for the course are addressed. Facility requirements must be specific and addressed through the S-4. Training areas and ranges must be requested and coordinated through RFMSS and forward …show more content…
Weapons Qualification: Weapons Qualification for Regiment personnel will be coordinated by the S-3 Section upon availability of funds and ammunition. D-11. Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT): a. Battalion Operations NCOs, Chief Instructors, section sergeants and course managers will monitor their Soldiers to ensure every member of their unit takes the APFT during the APFT window annotated on the YTC. b. Battalions will maintain APFT records and report results during the monthly training meetings to the S-3. Chief Instructors and Section Sergeants will retest Soldiers who fail the APFT prior to or following the normal training day during subsequent months following the initial record APFT. c. All information will be transferred to DTMS. In case a Soldier fails the APFT after re-test, Commanders will be responsible for counseling and submitting flagging actions through the S-1. The individual will undergo retraining process under the Battalion supervision to prepare the individual to be physically fit to endure through the APFT process. If any commander fails the APFT the RTI Commander will proceed under policy and regulations to deal with that commander situation. D-12. Staff and Faculty Height / Weight
Physical readiness standards are another element of military bearing. Physical readiness standards or better known as PRT’s are held every six months for NAVY personnel. The PRT is a test in which each member of the NAVY must perform and pass within certain standards in order to maintain peek performance in his or her military careers. Such aspects of the PRT are based upon sit up, sit and reach, push ups, as well as
Evaluation Preparation: Provide soldier with references listed below. Prepare a scenario that requires the soldier to respond accurately, IAW task standards, to the task performance measures listed above. This may be presented orally or in writing.
Accountability for personnel aids in the accessing of a unit's assets and combat readiness is called personnel strength reporting. Personnel strength reporting is a command function that enables a unit as a whole, to analyze the manning levels and readiness to provide commanders with a snapshot of the unit's combat power and capabilities. The formula to achieve a Personnel Strength report is achieved by comparing the by name data obtained during the Personnel accountability process and face it against the specified authorizations to determine the percentage of the slots filled for certain positions within a unit. Even though Strength reporting seems to be only important for the deployment process one has to think of the capabilities of each and every by name soldier within the unit, if the soldiers do not report to training how will they every be prepared for when it comes to combat situations.
Training objectives must support the mission profile and meet the commanders desired end state. Prior to the 56TH train up at the National Training Center (NTC) the deployment location changed from Iraq to Afghanistan (case study). Changes to mission essential tasks were not identified prior to NTC, resulting in the BCT training on collective tasks and validated during MRE based on the Iraq mission profile. However, the shift to the Afghanistan mission profile created gaps in training not identified until units arrived at Bagram Air Field (BAF). i.e. the BCT had to establish an MRAP drivers training program at BAF extending the RSOI process. Training gaps were not limited to company level shortfalls as battalion and brigade staffs were not able to anticipate potential threats and capitalize on opportunities. (case study 2)
Once the analysis of the current APFT exercises have been completed the research will move on to the combat oriented tasks described in the TRADOC PT Manual. This leads us into stage two of the research. The tasks describe within the manual can be found within chapter 13 of the manual. The TRADOC manual is also Army wide guidance concerning what types of tasks Soldiers must be able to perform in combat situations. The actions prescribed in the manual will be evaluated on the same criteria as the current APFT format. The tasks specifically include: marching, running, lifting from ground and overhead, lunching pushing and rotations. These actions will again be broken down into the different body actions used in each movement and associated with the type of muscle contractions used. The TRADOC Tasks will be categorized and their characteristics identified on the following graph.
1. SITUATION: The Battalion will direct an Army Personnel Asset Inventory (PAI) to account for 100% of all personnel assigned and attached to 34TH
APFT: PT is not optional. You must ensure you keep up with your physical fitness. If pt with the detachment or team isn't pushing you, you must conduct pt on your own and continue to grow. Remember the Special Reaction Team standard is a 270 pt score or higher.

a. There are currently over 8,000 Soldiers, SPC, CPL and SGT’s erroneously on the promotion standing list. Reasons include immediate reenlistment prohibition codes such as the following: APFT failures, overweight soldiers, field bars to reenlistment, result of a suspension of favorable personnel actions (FLAGS) and APFT tests that are over 365 days old.
-PT: As you know there will be days when you will not participate in morning physical training. That being said you will be allowed to do coordinated physical training at the end of the day. You are expected to have self-discipline and to whatever it takes to maintain physical fitness standards. If you are found unable to pass the APFT, or the Army height and weight test you will conduct PT twice a day.
As far as the grading of the APFT goes, although FM 21-20 specifies the correct way to do a push-up or sit-up, the actual scoring for these events are wildly inconsistent from grader to grader. Sometimes these inconsistencies hurt a Soldiers score, but often these inconsistencies give an unfair advantage to a Soldier over his or her peers. The inconsistencies in grading the APFT and measuring a Soldier’s body fat are magnified by those leaders who don’t even bother and just “pencil whip” the results of both.
Today’s task is to conduct 4 For the Core, Military Movement Drills 1 & 2, and Hill Repeats. IAW TC 3-22.20.

For the last 17 plus years of my career I have called the physical fitness test the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). Now in the last six years there has been rumors of it changing to the Army Physical Readiness Test (APRT). Between the changes in how we exercised before and in the years of combat, the current changes were a long time coming. We all know that the way we exercise determines the shape our bodies stay in throughout our careers. Injuries cannot always be avoided, but to reduce the risk of injuries, that is what is important to the Army now. The current changes to FM 7-22 have been implemented in order to help prevent injury through proper workout techniques and form. Except the
