I have the pleasure to recommend Cynthia Reyes, who I’ve know for four years now. She is a determined, thoughtful, and studious young lady who has impressed me with her diligence this year. Her academic work work reflects her dedication to giving forth her best effort and persevering through all subjects. Even with immigrating to this country and learning english, Cynthia works hard on everything she sets her mind to. Miss Reyes values academics, she has been enrolled in business courses like FCCLA. She has a great potential in the business world being flexible, prompt, personable, reliable as well as trainable. She aspires to keep pursuing in a college route; she would be a first-generation student, and strives to be a role model for her
Throughout the years that ive been in school I have not ever interviewed someone and written an essay. Although it may sound scary I didn't mind at all considering the fact that it became fun when I found out what we had in common. My classmate seems to be a motivated person. We share the English Comp. 1 class together. During this interview, I discovered that Shunquiez Levingston has a set life goal, a pretty cool home hobby, and a hard working life. First, Shunquiez believe that career goals and getting education is always important. She is in college, attending UACCH, for medical office manager. For the reason of choice in career, Shunquiez's aunt works as a medical office manager herself. Her aunt is her role model, that is who she looked
Marisol has been academically involved in her community and studies. She serves as a mentor at the Elac Puente club
Mary first decided to get her associates degree in early child development at a slow pace, which was 16 years ago. She then got a position at Fresno City College part time and also another position as a teacher’s aide at another school working with preschool children, working 19 hours a week for a little over a year. She had gotten a full time position at

Without the determination to continue his education, Rodriguez could have given up his dream of becoming a scholar and settled for “dead end work” (521) that paid well. There were times where I wanted to give up my education. The dirty old bungalows that all my English classes were taught in were not motivating atmospheres. There were many students who came to class unprepared or did not care about the class, which caused class discussions to become quiet and boring. Thankfully, most of the professors at my community college were passionate about their jobs, which would inspire me to continue my path to becoming educated.
In closing, I believe Sabrina has a range and depth of practice experiences to build on as she continues her studies in graduate school. Sabrina is an insightful and inspiring person that met challenges with unwavering dedication. I am confident that Sabrina will do well in graduate school and will make a difference in the lives that she will touch. I’m pleased to recommend her to you, believing she will succeed in your program as she had in ours. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions
The person that I chose to interview for this assignment was my mom, Annie Sequeira. I chose to interview my mom because I act like my mom in many ways, and I want to compare her high school experience to what mine will be. During my mom’s high school years, she was very focused on her education and wanted to receive a degree from college. But, most of the people in her village disagreed with her and thought that girls should not have to study or work; they would marry and become housewives. My mom’s family worked in the rice fields, and they thought that she should stay and help them with the farming; but, my mom wanted a better life, so she studied hard. My mom had a teacher and mentor, Mrs. Pimenta, who encouraged her during her high school years and gave her the important advice that an education would help her achieve a better life than farming. Even today, she is proud that she put a lot of effort into her high school education, because there is now a plaque with her name at her school which awards her for high academic distinction.
Rose’s parent took in Julep like their own child, and they acknowledged her success as a bright individual. Renowned colleges were calling out to her, and Julep was only an eleventh grader. The positivity and encouragement motivated Julep to continue her inspiring work.
When she explain how it was difficult for her when she came to America from Vietnam at age the age of 12, the tone in her voice dramatically changed from very fast and happy to serious. Mrs. Ferrin Had mentioned "one obstacles that I had in college was understanding most of the language. Since I still had not learned any English." Even though she had a tough time with English, college was a foundation of her success. The college also assisted her to get the job she has now. "Without college, I wouldn't be a biology teacher and this is what I love to do" she added.
One would think that she could write novels in her sleep, but that was not the case. The student spoke about how she always stressed the importance of following your dreams no matter what stumbling blocks got in the way. Cynthia told her students that she wanted to be a teacher since she was a little girl. Her dad used to tell her that there was no money in teaching, but she did not care because teaching was were her heart was at. Money did not matter to her, what did matter was her happiness and the chance to do good in the world. She said that when she was younger she used to have a giant chalkboard by her bed and she would lineup all her stuffed animals and dolls next to the board and pretend to instruct them. Becoming a professor was her ultimate goal so the fact that she had two kids wasn’t going to stop her from going back to school to get her Masters degree which she eventually did. She also struggled to make ends meet when she worked at a grocery store bagging goods, but that did not deter her. This demonstrates that if one is fully committed to what they want to accomplish, there is no stopping them and with perseverance they shall triumph. When Cynthia shares her personal life stories it sits well with the class because some of the students are going through the same phases that she had to endure at one point in
It is with great enthusiasm that I recommend Alexis Santerre. It has been my pleasure to know Alexis throughout her high school career. Her infectious smile and charming personality makes it a treat to be in her company. Although I find Alexis well above her age in maturity, she remembers to have fun, as a high school student should. She can always be counted on to get the job done and have it meet more than your expectations. She is very self-sufficient and is true to herself and her ethics. An individual and a true leader by example, she is not swayed by the masses, and feels compelled to not only live a moral life but to stand up for her beliefs. Teachers see her as a positive contributor in the classroom, and she is well liked and
The main issues that Ms. O’reilly should focus on the most are language and the different roles of gender, race, ethnicity and class. In order to allow all her students to succeed, especially Maria and Brandon she needs to take in consideration the different factors and obstacles that each child faces at home and school. With the child Maria, Ms. O’reilly should focus on language and bilingualism in order to help her succeed. With Brandon she needs to focus more on the social economic status of his family. Both children face many similar struggles but are unique in their own way. It is best said by Daniel Willingham, he states “To compensate, teachers should offer in the classroom what these children are missing at home”. It is Ms. O’reilly’s
Savannah still has a refreshing wide-eyed quality about her. As an enthusiastic learner, Savannah always challenges herself to do more by committing that extra effort. Her enthusiasm and energy have been matched over the years with a discipline that is remarkable for someone her age. She is committed to learning; turning in assignments early, questioning the process behind her solutions, and continuing to try until she has mastered the material. As her teacher, I truly enjoy her spirit and enthusiasm. I highly recommend her for the Governor's Scholar
