A business must be highly competitive in the business markets today. For a business to grow successfully, remain sustainable, and competitive a business needs a good understanding of a marketing plan, and the knowhow to put the concepts to work for the business achieving a successful marketing strategy. Remaining successful when an economic growth has leveled out shows a sustainable business. Competitors that follow the same marketing concepts will need to develop a good marketing plan, and implement the concepts into a marketing strategy to remain a competitive business. A good marketing strategy contains a marketing plan describing the products offered, and taking into account

In a society that has seen such a drastic downturn in the economy, people are searching for the best possible bargains they can find. People across the United States are looking for ways to save money; thus, searching for stores that will provide them with everything they need at a lower cost. Companies all over the United States are fighting to stay competitive and are seeking ways to restructure their company and still provide for consumers the best possible prices. Companies such as Wal-Mart do not have to change their structure to fit the demands of consumers because it already offers its customers brand name items
Spring time in the U.S. may cause the middle class Americans financial problems, particularly those who suffer from seasonal allergy. Hanaa Maher, 35 years-old lives in Washington D.C. and she says that 10 per cent of her earnings go to health care cost and it’s still not covering her medicines. “I have one of the two options; either enter the shop and buy a $10 Zyrtec which is OTC in one or two minutes or visit healthcare professional (HCP) and waste hours in the waiting room and pay between $46-$60 to get Clarinex a prescription medicine” she said on phone conversation.
In most parts of the world, the supply and access of medicines is regulated by a framework set out by the government through regulatory body which looks at the risk perception and benefits of the medication to the population. For example in the United Kingdom, there are three categories of medicines: medicines for general sale, pharmacy supervised and prescription only drugs. Prescription only drugs are available only to a patient when prescribed by a doctor. Other healthcare professionals have been accorded the same status so as to give their patients, the prescription drugs. Pharmacy supervised drugs can only be sold under close watch of a registered pharmacist. General sale drugs list are available from any retail outlet within patient reach. When moving from prescription only to pharmacy and finally the general sales, it increase the public access to drugs thus necessitate medication, while also decrease the professional control of the same drugs (medicine). The study is about over the counter marketing which is understood to be pharmacy supervised sales and general sale medicines, but it doesn’t discount the prescription only drugs, because all the three makes up the pharmaceutical market equilibrium.
The marketing communication message I chose for this assignment is a magazine advertisement for brown rice with sweet potato flavored Triscuit crackers. This colorful magazine advertisement contains an image of the product box in the bottom right hand corner with brown rice, a sweet potato cut open and a small visual of a wheat stalk placed thoughtfully within the space. The box is open and depicts these healthy foods spilling out of it. There is also an image of an attractive rustic plate and on it the crackers made into various bite size appetizers. One has cheese and a small piece of an herb, while one has a soft cheese with a slice of grape tomato, and another has a piece of cheese and prosciutto. The background looks like a chalkboard and written in white chalk is the advertisement's headline:
Sales of the OTC Pepcid will affect the revenue and brand recognition of the prescriptions version. Because the drug will be more accessible in common locations like drugstore and department stores with pharmacies like Wal-Mart and Target, consumers are more likely to use the OTC counters. It will decrease the percentages of patients visiting doctor’s appointments for symptoms related to non-serious digestive conditions. The sales of OTC Pepcid will also affect brand recognition because rather than consumers selecting brands that they are familiar with, they are more likely to select products that associate its purpose to their issue. For example, the case mentioned that there are already brands of OTC antacid; however, consumers are more
This study looks at how prescription drugs (Rx) and over-the-counter drugs (OTC) are advertised and how that potentially effects buying habits of consumers. There have been studies on this in the past but researchers failed to consider important factors such as age, exposure to advertising, health conditions of their audience. Results of this study could allow advertisers to consider our findings when producing advertisements. Consumers who see this study may also choose to do their own research on the Rx or OTC they consider purchasing. Also, medical professionals that have the authority to write Rx for their patients would be better informed of how the advertisements are perceived, causing them to present these drugs more or less. Now, this could negatively affect the pharmaceutical drug industry financially if doctors stop using their advertisements. However, that is not our goal in this study, just mearly a side effect.
As we wrap our final week in class, we’ve been discussing the proper format on how to promote or advertise whether it’s a sports drink, product, or any items in general. As I reflected over our class discussions, I started to think about some of the products that I felt weren’t receiving the proper marketing tactics and although a few came in mind, I thought about this cleaning product known as Awesome! Awesome Cleaning, which has been in business since 1983, is such a great product for cleaning up many stains you possibly couldn’t get to come clean with another popular cleaning product such as grease stains, mold build up, etc. Although the product has a little strong
Many companies use different research tools when conducting primary and secondary research. Once that has been established, there will be discussion as to which tools are used for each approach and why.
What could possibly be important about the four Ps, and what do they have to do with this thing called the Marketing Mix? The Marketing Mix is a set of policies for the four Ps that is developed to meet the needs of a company or firm 's target market. The marketing mix should be reasoned, and internally consistent. The four Ps are; Product, Place, Price and Promotion. By using variations of these four components you have the ability to reach multiple consumers within your target market. It often takes experimenting and solid market research to creating a successful marketing mix that will increase desired results. The key is to not always depend on "one" mix, the combining and coordination of these
