Culture is a key aspect of a human that reflects on their lifestyle, family, traditions and pulls together the external influences that play a role in how one chooses to live their life. For me, culture is something you collect throughout your lifetime. In my lifetime, I have been lucky enough to travel outside of the United States and meet people from all over the world. I have seen how people go about their daily routines in many different ways compared to mine. The main cultural influence that has been present in my life since day one is the closeness of my family. All my cousins are very close it has often odd when I hear about families with weak relationships and small size. Another influence that has shaped my behavior was my exposure of extreme poverty and extreme wealth while living in Mexico. Lastly, a cultural influence that has shaped my belief system is my education. A cultural influence that has really been eye opening for me, especially in the past 4 years, is the quality of education I have been lucky enough to receive. My understanding of the educational system in the United States compared to Mexico has been a jarring experience. …show more content…
Green Day’s angry lyrics screaming in my ears. The look of lost motivation was plastered on my face as I rolled my uniform shirt up to expose more of my long legs and ripped tights. I made my way up five flights of stairs and saw all my classmates lying on the floors wearing hoodies that they would later get dress coded for. I sat down and turned the volume up so that no one would bother me. The ball rang out telling us to go to first hour. “Hells Bells” by ACDC was the perfect way to describe the sound. Unmotivated and tired, I managed to get up and walk to physics class. Luz Pro had that nasty look on her face as always. I took my seat in the far corner of the room where I sat in every class. I heard a familiar

I was raised in a Haitian family, and growing up Haitian was definately interesting. Growing up in a strict family, and being the only girl, out of 4 brothers, I grew uo literally walking on a straight line. It was like, if you are a girl, you are looked down on, if you do anything wrong. You are also looked at, as if you've shamed your own family. Growing up in the haitian culture has raised me to be just like my mother.

Both of my parents were born in Liberia, a country located in West Africa. They moved to America when they were young adults. Except, my dad still
James G. Peoples, an author said, “Culture affects our views of reality. It provides the mental concepts by which people perceive, interpret, analyze, and explain events in the world around them”(notable-quotes.com). The extent of a person’s culture informs the way they view themselves, others, and the world through whom they’re surrounded by, opinions they form, and the way one adapts to new surroundings. Those you have surrounded yourself with and those you have grown up with influence the way you view not only the world, but yourself. In Robert Lake’s essay, “An Indian Father’s Plea”, Lake is writing a letter to his son’s teacher about how his son is not a slow learner, but was taught with different cultural views.
Culture, according to the Webster-Merriam Dictionary, is human intellectual achievement regarded collectively. The world is brimming with diverse, unique cultures. The way one is raised, determined by one’s culture, forms how a person acts, thinks, speaks, and much more. Culture dictates much of one’s life, from the philosophies we adhere to all the way to what we eat for dinner. The way someone's culture impacts or influences their perspective of others and the world depends on the culture they come from since there is notisn't a such thing as “normal” because every culture has different ways of doing things, as shown in the short passages “An Indian Father's Plea”, “Dave Perry Does Japan”, and “Where Worlds Collide”.

Culture is a way of life of a group of people, the behaviors, beliefs, values, and symbols that they accept, generally without thinking about them, and that are passed along by communication and imitation from one generation to the next. Culture can be seen in our food, religion, family structure, and more. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. My parents were born in Mexico. Well my whole family were born in Mexico. We are just any hispanic family. My cultural identity is pretty much the basic hispanic culture. We do everything that involves having fun and being with family.
Culture by definition is the identity or feeling of belonging to a group. It is part of a person's self-conception and self-perception and is related to nationality, ethnicity, religion, social class, generation, locality or any type of social group that has its own distinct culture. To me that definition couldn't be more spot on but let's go more in depth over the past few months in my English class we have been trying to learn what our culture is and what part culture plays in our daily lives so in this essay I will be sharing with you what I think culture is what it means to me and how I think it impacts our way of living and the way we look at each other as human beings and how we treat each other and how all this makes up my culture
Culture means the big things and the little things. Culture to me is the big, little, and everything in between. For a while I wasn’t sure what culture was. When I found out I realized I needed to find out what it meant to me. What I decided was this, Culture is family, traditions, and values. Culture is what I want to carry down to my children and the way I live my life. It is what I grew up with and around and how I will understand the choices of my life later on. Culture is so important. It is something I never realized was so essential in my life and once I saw it I never want to forget it and how it works into making me the person I am and will forever be.
Culture is the definition of a person, like the prologue to your favorite story. The not so scientific DNA that makes you, you. The influences and people that shape your behavior, and change your characteristics. It is the environment in which you are surrounded by. The reasons behind your peculiarity. Your culture is the most important thing, your culture is you. My culture is the constant of support that my family gives me, even if I do screw up sometimes. My culture is pureness of the love that I receive, and knowing how genuine it really is. My culture is the reliability of my friends, and the constant reassurance that they have my back. I am extremely family oriented and this allows me to succeed in tackling my dreams, one at a time.
