Firstly, let’s analyze the video footage from the dash camera and the video footage shot from the helicopter flying above the scene. In the dash camera footage, Crutcher is shown approaching the driver’s side of the SUV, then more officers walk towards him. Crutcher appears to lower his hands and place them on the vehicle. The officers surround Crutcher and he suddenly drops to the ground. A voice heard on police radio says: “Shots fired!” The officers back away and Crutcher is left unattended on the street for about two minutes before an officer puts on medical gloves and begins to attend to him. Helicopter video starts with Crutcher back by Officer Shelby’s car. In the video, you can see Crutcher walking back towards his car with his hands in the air, ignoring commands from officers. Crutcher got back to his vehicle as other officers arrived to assist. Officer
People from all walks of life face many ethical dilemmas. These dilemmas have consequences. Our worldview determines how we deal with these dilemmas, and guides us to the right decisions. In this essay, I will examine an ethical issues through my Christian worldview. I will also present other viewpoints, and compare them to mine.
Upon arrival, Officer Wheeler activated his (BWC1) body worn camera which was later uploaded to evidence.com. As our patrol vehicle pulled up to St. Luke’s emergency room entrance, I viewed a male later identified as (RV1) Devinelle Lavaughn Broussard with a cellphone in his hand attempting to prevent a female, later identified as (B1) Eleasia Ashanti Fraise, from throwing a (EVD1) red brick. I next saw Fraise throw the brick at a parked (D1) silver BMW, located along the south side walk. The brick fell to the ground and Fraise went to picked it back up. Fraise picked the brick up and moved in the direction of our patrol vehicle with the brick at shoulder height. I parked the patrol vehicle and immediately got out drawing my firearm to a low ready. Officer Broussard stepped out of the vehicle and drew firearm pointing it at Fraise (View Officer Wheeler’s statement for further details). Officer Wheeler and I gave commands to Fraise to drop the brick. Fraise immediately complied and dropped the brick. I holstered my firearm
Mr. Matthews said the male then got out of the truck and then began to walk down his driveway and fell and face first on the driveway. The male then got up and stumbled all the way down the street and disappeared in the darkness. While Officer Seachris was speaking with Mr. Matthews, neighbors advised there was moaning coming from down the street. Officer Seachris went to 628 S Vassar and located a light-skinned, bald, Hispanic male with no shirt lying face down on the cement porch. This subject was later identified as Javier Ramirez-Zarate. Officer Seachris could immediately smell a very strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Mr. Ramirez-Zarate. Officer Seachris attempted to get information about the accident but Mr. Ramirez-Zarate kept repeating that he was at his house. Officer Seachris had Mr. Ramirez-Zarate walk down the street and observe that Mr. Ramirez-Zarate was having difficulty maintaining his balance. Officer Seachris instructed Mr. Ramirez-Zarate that he was going to administer sobriety tests and attempted to do so. Mr. Ramirez-Zarate could not perform the test and Officer Seachris took him into custody. During this time Officer Wheeler made contact with Mr. Ramirez-Zarate’s girlfriend who advised that Mr. Ramirez-Zarate had been driving the truck earlier and as far as she knew he
A 911 dispatcher contacted Officer Mattox about a so called domestic dispute. Mattox arrived and heard another officer claiming that shots have been fired. However, it was the Fourth of July. With that being said, can you verify that the sound made was not an echo of a bottle rocket? You also stated “ [Mattox] was attacked by [Roberts]” conversely this is not what is shown on the body camera video. According to the footage, he busted through Mr. Roberts door and proceeded to attack him. It appeared that Mr. Roberts was attempting to lie on the floor, but before he could even get on his knees, Mattox
On Thursday, 05/18/2017, at about 9:27 p.m., partner Officer Griffin (#3135) and I were on uniformed patrol in a marked patrol vehicle (Unit #21) as 3A21. We were dispatched to an injury traffic collision at Lake Ave. and Maple St. Upon our arrival, we saw three vehicles that appeared to be involved in a traffic collision. While we were assisting with the scene, we saw Victim Captain Konrad struggling with the suspect, later identified as Kevin Hendrix. Officers Griffin, Riehl (#7454), Spatz (#8058) and I grabbed Suspect Hendrix and took him to the ground. I placed properly adjusted, double locked handcuffs on Hendrix. Officer Griffin and I placed Hendrix in our patrol vehicle.
Days after the incident, it was reported that “officers discovered PCP in Crutcher’s vehicle.” Crutchers family and lawyer have since pointed to the announcement as serving as a type of immoral intellectual justification for the unlawful shooting of Crutcher.
On September 16, 2016, Terence Crutcher was shot and killed by a Tulsa, Oklahoma police officer, Betty Shelby. Crutcher, 40 years old, was discovered by Betty Shelby as she was in route to a domestic violence call. Former Officer Shelby, according to her attorney, thought Crutcher was possibly impaired when she encountered Crutcher’s SUV in the middle of the roadway. Prior to Shelby discovering the vehicle, the Tulsa Police Department received two 911 calls reporting Crutcher’s vehicle. The first caller advised the dispatcher an abandoned vehicle was blocking the street, and a man was running from the vehicle yelling, “it was going to blow up.” The second caller stated the SUV was, “in the middle of the road, and all of the doors were open,”
In addition, the grandmother’s use of gender roles is unsuccessful when trying to persuade the Misfit because the Misfit is vengeful person who is taking retaliation for the injustice he experienced. She places too much trust into the Misfit believing that he “won’t shoot a lady, would you?” (7) because of the men’s gender roles: men are taught not to harm a lady. However, the grandmother disregards the injustice the Misfit experienced which is the reason for her lack of logic when using gender roles as an argument. It is highly possible the Misfit is killing others so they can experience the unfairness he experienced. By conducting these misdemeanors such as murdering a family, he feels compensation for the iniquitousness the American justice
The police report stated that Mr. Crutcher had stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road and gotten out, leaving the engine running. His speech was slurred

The theme of animal ethics touches the lives of most individuals since consumption of animal flesh and animal products is a norm in the modern society. Moreover, various religious ceremonies are conducted with an animal as the sacrifice to the deity that the people seek to appease hence animal ethics plays a significant role in the lives of all religious groups. The theme will be developed with much reflection on the technological advancements that are progressively taking place in modern society as well as their bearing on religion, particularly, Christianity. Thus, the thesis for this paper is that human and animal
Ethics can be dangerous to your career. The danger may come not from your own ethics but from the ethics of people around you and the organization of which you are a part. Employees have various moral decisions to make. Many of these decisions should be made on the basis of our moral obligations, but sometimes the morally preferable action could require courage and be performed beyond the call of duty. One defense against involvement in wrongdoing is vocalizing when there are unethical practices being made. While being prepared for organizational challenges that will inevitably test your personal values, moral beliefs, and commitment may be doing the right thing, is it ethical when one’s job is on the line?
