According to the professional and ethical compliance code for behavior analysts, behavior analysts must rely on scientific knowledge (1.01) and clients have a right to effective treatment (2.09). This undoubtedly goes against ethics code because scientists don’t recommend FC and have proven that other methods such as Applied Behavior Analysis are more effective. Because of the popularity of FC in the 90’s, proponents continued their adherence to the technique and dismissed evidence investigations as flawed and unnecessary, characterizing FC as an “effective and legitimate intervention” in pro-FC literature (?). They refused to change their minds or admit their mistakes. The FC movement retained some of its popularity and is still being used as of today, controversially. Its use has caused issues for families especially in terms of abuse

Another interesting case involving Bowler pertains to Union members and extortion. According to the Boston Globe “Prosecutors alleged in a 2015 indictment that the five Teamsters members attempted to extort jobs from the ‘Top Chef’ show in June 2014 by threatening to disrupt the show’s filming at a restaurant in Milton.” The Globe goes on to further explain that the union members believed that they were using their constitutional rights to “picket,” Bowler did not see it that way. Bowler stated that the jury will ultimately decide the case but the indictment “depicts conduct in the form of threats used to exact payments in the form of wages for unwanted, unnecessary, and superfluous services that is a violation of the Hobbs Act.” The paper
In earlier court proceedings Parkingham's lawyer, Glenn Gerding, argued that the way the law was written, even a Google search would be off limits. Based on the definition, YouTube how-to videos and ordering from Amazon are just as forbidden as MySpace, simply because of the comment boxes allowing users to post reviews or questions. Another of Gerding's clients was prevented from using Skype to watch his child's T-ball games, even with his wife on the other end filming the action.

Joe Smith, CEO for UWEAR and PALEDENIM and Bill Bateman, CEO for Peninsula Hotel sparked up a on and off the job friendship. Both Joe and Bill met each other earlier to develop a contract between UWEAR and Peninsula Hotel to design uniforms for Peninsula Hotel that is ran by Bill Bateman. During the course of developing the contract Joe and Bill have molded a friendship and in time they started to go to quite a few unrelated events and getaways with their families to relax. By doing things together certainly didn’t put a strain on the friendship on or off the job, but they now have a contract on the line and it needs to be given due consideration. Now Joe will have to give thought on what the ethical results will be of Bill’s recommendation of a getaway with the families and see if it could possibly damage the business in any way or interrupt the existing contract proceedings. In the meantime Joe and Bill has established a friendship as soon as they signed the first contract and they made sure business came before pleasure. In all of this I don’t believe that their friendship and going on getaways will hurt the contract proceedings. In all this Joe will not shriek his job duties and will always keep up with what has to be done. By accepting the trip on the yacht with Bill should not interfere or harm the business in any way. Joe ought to politely accept Bill’s invitation.
In this case study, Martha is clearly going through a lot in her life. She seems to be all over the place when it comes to her problems, but looking at it from a single standpoint, there may be one factor that stands out the most, which is anxiety. In this analysis of the case study, I will go into depth about what the primary presenting problems are, along with focusing on what the goals are for this client as well as the barriers that she is facing. The main focus of this analysis is to take three different theoretical approaches that should be used on Martha during the counseling. I decided that Martha should be given the following therapies: Person-Centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and finally Reality therapy. I believe those three techniques will be beneficial in Martha’s road to the help she is seeking from counseling.
