Due to the heaps of research being needed, our teacher provided us with another source to help out ,eventually leading us to visual job shadowing. During the visual job shadowing, I saw a funeral director who was helping families decided what kind of service to have. As the funeral director was talking to the family, he was writing obituary notices. In addition, he was also arranging a burial or cremation documentation. Throughout the video, I was aware that the funeral director needed to notify the government agency of his
Society has become increasingly comfortable with the release of personal information, though it has allowed this with or without full knowledge, there is no doubt this information is used for personal gain. Jeffry Rosen addresses societies usages of privacy in his article “…everyone who is subject to the scrutiny of the crowd-from celebrities to political candidates to the families of terrorist victims- will feel pressure to parcel out bits of personal information in order to allow unseen strangers to experience a sense of vicarious identification.” (Rosen J., p. 161), and Ian Bogost addresses the perks of surrendering privacy in Disney parks with the magic band “The FAQ clarifies, in the vaguest possible way, that theses long- range readers
The MacDonald Funeral Home website provides pathos with explaining that the home has been helping families by providing an understanding, meaningful, as well as caring funeral for the past 34 years. This website offers many photos that provide an emotional experience to the reader, such as photos of their family, photos of the recent obituaries, as well as photos explaining that they cremate people's loved ones using care. The website has lots of green, which provides the reader with feelings of growth, balance, harmony, and hope. Oddly curved shapes (natural/organic shapes) tend to comfort and please the
“You're one in a million.” Ashleigh's father tells her that all the time when she goes to his house every Tuesday. Ashleighs nickname is Ashes at least that was what her dad called her, her mother didn't like to call her Ashes. Ashes parents are divorced and she is an only child. One day Ashes father tried to convince her to take two hundred dollars from her mom's teapot. Ashleigh didn't take the money because she knew her dad was wrong about taking the money, her mom was a better role-model then her dad, and her dad was just using her to get the money.
Every day, thousands and millions of people flood the world with e-mails. Most youngsters keep online journals and share photos online with friends and family. And each day, many of us die. What happens to the contents of a deceased’s laptops and e-mail accounts? Would a deceased want his or her family to read the e-mails? What would happen if a deceased stored work files on his or her computer that belonged to his or her employer? Could a deceased assign a representative to go through the computer and clean out any files the deceased didn’t want anyone to see? In general, private letters that are used for communication are seen as personal property. When one dies,
In this paper, I will analyze an obituary about Jillian Ann Montgomery who was killed in a car accident. Most obituaries are of people one may not be familiar with, just like this case of Jillian. Obituaries begin with the name, age, and place of residence of the deceased, along with the time and place of death. Jillian’s obituary includes her name, age, residence, and the day when she was killed. It is not in all cases were the cause of death is included but the obituary indicate she was killed in a car accident. Since obituaries serve as a notice to friends or distance family that someone is deceased. The obituary also included the place, date, year of birth and parents of the deceased.
If you decide to give personal information, here is what it will be used for.
There are multiple options for a memorial services involving ashes. People usually just do a memorial service at a church in which they quote some verses from a religious text, share good memories, and show pictures of the deceased person. People may also have a service at the funeral home, their house, in the woods or forest, on a beach, or in a restaurant. In rare cases, some families embalm the deceased person for the visitation and then have the funeral the next day. After the funeral, they cremate the body. People usually do not do this because of cost. (R. Hackett, personal communication, Nov. 10 2015) After the memorial service, the ashes are then given to the family.
Cremated. Something clicked inside Jess's head. That meant Leslie was gone. Turned to ashes. He would never see her again. Not even dead. Never. How could they dare? Leslie belonged to him. More to him than anyone in the world. No one had even asked him. No one had even told him. And now he was never going to see her again, and all they could do was cry. Not for Leslie. They weren't crying for Leslie. They were crying for themselves. Just themselves. If they'd cared at all for Leslie, they would have never brought her to this rotten place. He had to hold tightly to his hands for fear he might sock Bill in the face.
The First Issue that is discussed if the ethical issue of privacy and anonymity. There are many interpretations of the limitations to privacy online. There is the general understanding that comments are considered to be public, but the actual studying of the sites discussing the issues of death and bereavement is more complicated. They need to be looked at the same way as we look at newspaper columns. The question is as to whether blogs and sites like this could be cited. In newspaper articles the person can hide their identity under a pseudonym, it’s harder to do this via the internet. They had submitted several
Cremation jewelry isn't exactly a hot topic for dinner conversation. Humans find it unpleasant to even think about death. However, one conversation couples need to have is how each partner prefers to be interred. In the same vein, adult children must know their parents' desires. It's also essential for parents to plan for the demise of a child.
