I am against it because a lot of people are going to be mad about it. There are many reasons why one is that they love the sports and the activity they can do with them. Another is that it give them stuff to do after school and in the summer. The sports are like a getaway place for them it’s fun and it also help them get in shape and healthy. The school is not going to like a lot of people complaining to them. Soon or later there going to get feed up with it and put it back. The sports can sometimes help the school districts get money. The sports teams can host fundraiser and get money for the school and the teams. There are many good and bad situations to having sports at your school a bad one is that it cost a lot of money to host them

With NFL Players kneeling everywhere and soldiers feeling unappreciated, our country is in shock. It all started by a player named Colin Kaepernick, a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, in 2016. This event persuaded numerous NFL players to continue this process. One by one, players all over the league began to protest to call attention to the issues of "racial inequalities and police brutality". With mixed reviews of this protest, I believe that kneeling during the National Anthem of the United States of America is disrespectful because it is abrasive, selfish, and hurtful. Also, I am not sure that all of those protesting in this manner know the true meaning of our national anthem or the flag that represents our freedom.
Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of Donald Trump, has been under fire in the aftermath of possible collusion. Kushner has gone under investigation after emails were leaked of a Russian meeting and is being interviewed to get information. The dishonesty of Kushner, has shaken the trust within the government and the incriminating evidence keeps surfacing as the interviews conclude. The news focused on the four meetings that occurred during the 2016 presidential campaign, and the main people that were involved in the meeting.
School is filled with many extracurricular activities, such as clubs, F.B.L.A, F.C.A, and of course, sports. There have been many remarks from people worldwide about the fact of sports should be banned from schools and just be about learning. Teachers and parents say sports are a distraction from the real reason student are at school, to learn. Other opinions, as well as mine, might disagree from the previous statement. Sports allow students to get in shape, be healthy, and interact with many other different people.
One reason schools should keep sports is when kids on a team play school sports students make new friends. Those friends kids make students play with them all season and have fun. For many years now sports have been a major part of high schools. They bring the community together and help bring out the school spirit in not only the students, but everyone who comes out to watch the games. As fun as it sounds, the funding of sports can be quite expensive and yet there are schools that will do anything to keep them going. That is an issue that many people worry about because there are schools that need the funding for more important educational programs. In “The Case Against High-School Sports” by Amanda Ripley, she states that the money and time that goes into high school sports should be reconsidered. Personally, I agree with her statement but to a certain extent in the sense that I also believe that sports have the capability of helping some students to be more engaged in their studies or at least care more about them.
The United States presidential election, it’s a huge event in the United States and its been seen by some as an example of our democracy, but should it be? In truth, “American citizens do not cast their ballots directly for their favorite candidates for the presidency. Instead, they vote for electors ostensibly (but not always) committed to a given candidate.” (Levinson, Page 83). But, why not let the citizens vote directly for the president themselves? This old idea of not trusting the American people more with knowing how to vote isn’t fair anymore and while at the time it may have been okay and even made sense because it made voting easier since, “Never in the history of the world had a comparable election been conducted in a territory as large as the United States” (Black, Paragraph 14) it’s now (in my opinion) outdated and no longer necessary. This isn’t to say that I would completely get rid of the system we have though, I do agree with how, “Above all, the Founders feared power, the domination of some men over others.” (Critchlow, Page 19), they knew that in this case something would have to be done to keep the few large states from controlling the elections if presidents were elected with the popular vote. I think that we do need to make some changes to take the more of the people's opinions into consideration, though instead of giving all of a states’ electoral votes to the most popular candidate and ignoring the rest of the states residents votes.
In today’s society, many people struggle to love themselves. What does it take to truly be open with who you are and to be confident enough to deal with anybody’s judgement in this world? With models all over social media, magazines, television, and loved ones always staring and judging, it is hard for one to truly feel accepted in this world. There will always be people in the world who will shame those who are a little too over weight, those who are too skinny, those who choose the wrong person to love, those who are too confident or too insecure...the list is endless. Nobody in this world should have the right to decide what you should look like, how you should act, and who you should love, except for you. What does it mean to be “too this” or “too that” anyway? Rick Warren once said, “Those who follow the crowd usually get lost in it. I don’t know all the keys to success, but one key to failure is to try to please everyone.” Society has its own ideas on what perfection really is and what it looks like, making it hard for humans to truly love themselves the way they are. Why is that? Why do we shame others for being themselves after continuously telling them to “Be Yourself.”
It is midnight, and while you are in a deep sleep dreaming about your family and the vacation you are going to take next month and you hear a loud beeping noise. You don’t fully wake up because you think it’s something in your dream. When you finally come to the realization that the loud noise is the fire alarm, you see your husband trying to put clothes on and you go to wake your kids and gather outside at your safe place. When you go to your child’s door you perceive that she is trapped around flames all around her bed which is where the fire originated. She is screaming “Mommy! Mommy help!”. You feel helpless as you try to open her bedroom door where she can’t get out and you can’t open it because it is stuck, but you know that if you do not do something quick, something bad is going to happen. As your husband takes your other children out to the safe place, firefighters rush in to take over and they take you away from your daughter’s bedroom door, but as that happens you latch on to her door because you can’t stand the thought of losing her. You scream “NO! NO! My daughter is in there!” But the fireman drags you out because you are losing oxygen. You sit down in front of your house in the grass sobbing because of the fact that you could lose your child. The paramedics are standing beside their trucks waiting to assist. “Harvard University withdrew the admittance of at least 10 incoming freshman who had reportedly posted violent, racist, sexually explicit content in a private Facebook group,” (Schools are Watching [...], 1). A distinguished University is looking into what students are doing online and because of this many students are paying a large price for posting inappropriate posts on social media. Schools should not have the ability to censor speech because they can impede on students’ free speech and they would be stopping students from learning and growing if they were to stop students from expressing themselves.

Welcome to Chicago, Illinois one of the most gut reaching cities in the United States that makes you think why do people still live in that certain environmental reality is they have no escape like if they were all caged lab rats . At the age of five I was dragged by my feet and the tiny nails clawing to the cement floor in order to escape my mother's furious grip. Meanwhile other kids my age were playing with their families in their front yard i was being yanked into my mother's gray minivan for a sixteen hour drive which was an eternity with six people smothered together like a peanut butter jelly sandwich.Every second was ticking by slowly i began to ache realizing everything and everyone was fading away in the distance as trees and homes began to fade away in the distance.
It’s time for change across the nation. Bullying has been a problem for a millennia, however, in recent years, it has now been focused mostly at schools. There are school policies in place to both punish and prevent bullying from happening. Anti-Bullying strategies aren’t enough to be properly used by the nation successfully and need to be changed. Rules need to be altered for better ones.
