2.3 Assignment Dr. James Dupree Ethical/Legal Aspects of Mgmt (MGMT-512-01E)
I have read and understand the plagiarism policy as outlined in the syllabus and the sections in the Student Bulletin relating to the IWU Honesty/Cheating Policy. By affixing this statement to the title page of my paper, I certify that I have not cheated or plagiarized in the process of completing this assignment. If it is found that cheating and/or plagiarism did take place in the writing of this paper, I understand the possible consequences of the act/s, which could include expulsion from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Integrity
Introduction In a society filled with ambition and rivalry, two essential values frequently stand out: integrity and humility. These are not merely buzzwords; they are the core elements of a powerful
character. Our moral compass is built around integrity, which is the uncompromising commitment to truth and ethical ideals. It directs us to make morally sound choices that are just and in line with our principles. Humility, on the other hand, reminds us that we do not know all the solutions. It encourages an open-minded mindset that enables us to interact effectively and learn from others.
Integrity and humility work together to produce a potent synergy. While humility enables us to take into account many viewpoints and come up with creative solutions, integrity guarantees that we approach problems with honesty and fairness. This combination is not only necessary for
personal development but also for developing trust and achieving success in all spheres of life, especially the intricate world of business.
Brief Overview of the Questions Answered
The questions examined many facets of humility and integrity, emphasizing how these traits show up in your relationships with other people. The assessment questions things like being honest, sticking to your word, overcoming obstacles, and acknowledging the accomplishments of
others. With a strong focus on integrity and moral behavior throughout, I emphasized the importance
of valuing ethical conduct and aiming for honesty and openness in my replies. My response to the assessment shows that I am committed to upholding your ideals and standards. It also
Integrity
demonstrates how much I respect other people's opinions, listen to them, and take into account their contributions. Based on the assessment, I have a strong foundation for integrity because of my honesty, transparency, and ethical decision-making.
Collaboration skills are derived from a collaborative mentality, an openness to listening, a consideration of various points of view, and a celebration of others' accomplishments. In addition, I have an eye for growth and recognize the importance of feedback and room for progress.
Areas for Improvement
Although my answers show that you have a good comprehension of these qualities, it would be even more beneficial to support my self-reflection if I could give particular examples of when you have used them. Everyone has biases that might inadvertently impact their judgments. Examining my personal prejudices and how they may influence your decisions can be a useful practice.
What is at least one potential way the council could have cultivated an
atmosphere to allow for a more creative moral imagination? Looking at the
Level of Ethics: Organizational Framework from your reading, who could be
impacted?
One way the council may have fostered a more creative Moral Imagination is to encourage diversity inside the organization in terms of origins, experiences, and other characteristics, allowing a broader range of ideas and viewpoints to be brought to the table. When decision-
makers take a more comprehensive range of ethical factors into account, this diversity may

Background Information
This week's Discussion involves the controversial subject of employee lie detector testing at work. A polygraph is probably the most well-known type of lie detector. The Employee Polygraph Protection Act of 1988 (EPPA) 29 U.S.C. 2001 strictly limits the ability of private-sector employers to use any device to make a diagnostic opinion as to the honesty or dishonesty of an individual. Under EPPA, employers may not:
require or request any employee or job applicant to take a lie detector test, or discharge, discipline, or discriminate against an employee or job applicant for refusing to take a test.
use or inquire about the results of a lie detector test or discharge or discriminate against an employee or job applicant on the basis of the results of a test or for filing a complaint or for participating in a proceeding under EPPA.
Despite these prohibitions, limited exceptions allow employers to administer polygraph tests, but not other forms of lie detector…

The Job Description
Based on her review of the stores, Jennifer concluded that one of the first matters
she had to attend to involved developing job descriptions for her store managers.
As Jennifer tells it, her lessons regarding job descriptions in her basic management
and HR management courses were insufficient to convince her of the pivotal role job
descriptions actually play in the smooth functioning of an enterprise. Many times
during her first few weeks on the job, Jennifer found herself asking one of her store
managers why he was violating what she knew to be recommended company
policies and procedures. Repeatedly, the answers were either "Because didn't know it
was my job" or "Because I didn't know that was the way we were supposed to do it."
Jennifer knew that a job description, along with a set of standards and procedures
that specified what was to be done and how to do it, would go a long way toward
alleviating this problem.
In general, the store…
