How does teaching a revival language differ from natural language learning?
Task B: Create a 5-minute PowerPoint presentation for your language community explaining how you would teach an Aboriginal revival language class. Your presentation should explain:
How natural language learning differs from teaching a revival language.
Explain the challenges involved in teaching a revival language.
Discuss the ways in which master-apprentice and language immersion activities could be used. Present PowerPoint.

Conduct research from a cultural perspective of what would make a good Aboriginal Language teacher and answer the following questions. Task C: a)

different approaches that you might use in an informal and/or a formal setting. Give examples of the content you might teach in this context. Explain why you think this will work in these settings.

This module explores how children learn their first language and how teachers can build on these
conditions to create an effective teaching environment.
Learners will need to complete two Learning Outcomes
This module will be assessed in the classroom with learners completing oral and written task, in which
each of the Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria are addressed. Assessment must demonstrate
confidence by participants in discussing various approaches to teaching languages and they should
identify what makes a good Aboriginal language teacher.
