Health Care Operations and Quality Assessment The National Quality Strategy (NQS) was first introduced in March 2011, and is led by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It was developed to have health care agencies be transparent process from feedback of different stakeholders. The priorities were developed to improve healthcare and healthcare quality though out all the different sectors of the healthcare system. Members of the health care community can align to the NQS by doing the following: (www.ahrq.gov, n.d.) ● Adopt the three aims to provide better, more affordable care for the individual and the community. ● Focus on the six priorities to guide efforts to improve health and health care quality. ● Use one or more of the nine levers to identify core business functions, resources, and/or actions that may serve as means for achieving improved health and health care quality. Even though these measures have been put on place it’s been a slow movement to be able to implement these priorities. The biggest hurdle has been creating affordable healthcare for all. Obama care has been a Brightside to health care for people who can’t afford health care, but you are limited to where you can go for proper care from a primary care provider. Quality management can be strategically developed to meet these measures through data analysis and patient feedback. Patient care has to be a priority and the system has to be built around that. In 2022 the CMS National Quality Strategy, set an ambitious long-term initiative that aims to promote the highest quality outcomes and safest care for all individuals without discrimination for low-income families.
