Module 1 Assignment
Ch 1
5. I would first look up treatment centers for him so he could get help and have nurses there for when he withdrawals. I would inform the wife that I think this would be the best idea. I would help with getting him into AA as another choice and see if it is open groups so his wife can come along to some meetings. I can then see if there are activities for the man to do instead of drinking as a hobby. Refer him to counselors that deal with this type of situation. 13. My plan for this woman would be to get her to workforces so they can help her look for other jobs she qualifies for with better pay. Find a women's shelter that accepts kids and stays for long periods until she can get on her feet. Help her get set up for welfare including food stamps, finances and
housing. Give her information on soup kitchens and local areas in the community that serve and hand out food with the dates and times. Once she gets on her feet, I would set her up with a financial advisor. Ch 2
1. Paula is a 17-year-old client in the daytime partial hospitalization program. Her mother phoned and requested to know Paula’s psychiatric diagnosis so that she could inform the family’s physician who is treating Paula for diabetes. You should
: Ask Paula to sign a release of information form giving consent for the physician and the mother to be advised of her diagnosis.
8.
Jerry was a client who improved and was discharged 2 years ago. You receive a call from the
National Can Company. The caller explains that Jerry has applied for a job and that the company would like to hire him. Jerry told them he was in treatment 2 years ago and was discharged after showing considerable improvement. The company wishes to confirm the fact that Jerry did indeed complete the program as he claims. You say to the caller: “I don’t know if Jerry was ever a client of our agency. If you send me a release-of-information form I can look into that and get back to you.”
Ch 3

Case Problem Specialty ToysSpecialty Toys, Inc., sells a variety of new and innovative children’s toys and believes that the preholiday season is the best time to introduce a new toy. Many families use this time to look for new ideas for December holiday gifts. When Specialty has a new toy with good market potential, it chooses an October market entry date.
In order to get toys in its stores by October, Specialty places one-time orders with its manufacturers in June or July of each year. Demand for children’s toys can be highly volatile. If a new toy catches on, a sense of shortage in the marketplace often increases the demand to very high levels and large profits can be realized. On the other hand, new toys can also flop, leaving Specialty stuck with high levels of inventory that must be sold at reduced prices. The most important question the company faces is deciding how many units of a new toy should be purchased to meet expected sales demand. If too few are purchased, sales will be…

Deductions are due at the end of each month and each participating business submits one payment for its employees to the insurance company via online payments through the bank. However, if payments were received after 11:00 a.m., the bank does not process them until the next business day. At the beginning of each month an administrative assistant at MGMT Insurance Ltd. downloads the deductions for each company and allocates payments to the various policies.
