2 6-2 Report: Risk Analysis Risk Identification When it comes to acquisition between companies, it is very important to have very effective communication and transparency. Lack of transparency and communication can lead to lack of trust, make the process of integration difficult, and impact on the organizational culture. To ensure the success of the companies involved and ensure that employees have what they need communication and transparency is essential. Negative communication is another factor when it comes to poor communication. Negative communication brings work environment gossip, which can make some employees uncomfortable and worried about the company’s reputation. Negative communication puts a big gap in between employees due to the friction and this can cause issues during the acquisition. The use of technology is another factor that comes with poor communication. There are many people who rather communicate with technology and are more comfortable using this outlet than being in person. Having face to face interactions during an acquisition is very important and appropriate as it helps with discussions and explanations as well as answering questions and concerns. Face to face interactions can help clear any misunderstandings and miscommunication that the company might have experienced during the implementation and changes. “Lack of communication in the workplace is one of the top reasons people cite for low morale and reduced employee engagement.” ( Causes and Effects of Poor Communication in the Workplace , n.d.)
3 6-2 Report: Risk Analysis Risk Evaluation Data breeches are high with every organization because it needs 24/7 surveillance because a hack can happen at any time therefore it needs to be monitored daily. Organizations have firewalls into place to prevent hackers from getting into their systems. These high-tech systems aside of the 24/7 surveillance they also need frequent updates to avoid risks. Data breech can bring negative attention to the organization, like angry consumers because hackers have access to their information, negative publicity, money loss, and lack of trust from both other companies and current and future customers. The communication issue can be improved with proper training and education; however, data breech can cause damage that cannot be repaired. “Data breach costs arise from several factors, some more surprising than others. The resulting loss of business, revenue and customers cost data breach victims USD 1.42 million on average.” ( What Is a Data Breach? | IBM , n.d.)
