I have read were “Connecticut School Shooting ‘An Attack on America’” by Ted Anthony and “The Price of Gun Control by Dan Baum. All around I believe these articles were both very interesting and both took different perspectives on the issues of guns in America. Both Anthony and Baum illustrated the different problems that we have in America and our communities with gun control and gun violence. But, they both brought the text together to relate it on a personal level. I enjoyed reading both texts

relating it to firearms by giving a statistic at the end that teenagers are more likely to die of overdose than they are in gun fire. As someone who is interested in firearm violence and the issues of teen suicide or overdosed this was an interesting subject for me to look into. The message the Ad is communicating is that teens are more likely to die from overdose than gun fire. To portray this a series of tools are used. Besides the obvious statistic at the end. In order to make the statistic really

Tighter gun laws will reduce gun violence because it would be harder to access guns. According to the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives), “Thirty percent of guns involved in federal illegal gun trafficking investigations are connected in some way to gun shows” (“Gun Show Loopholes Should be Closed”). This shows that a high number of crimes and violence done by guns are done by illegal guns bought at gun shows. All this crime can be stopped if we put a ban on gun shows. In

“Guns don’t kill people on their own, it takes a person to pull the trigger.” Even if people find this statement to be true, guns are an issue that needs to be addressed. A gun is simply an easy tool that people can use and manipulate with hardly any thought. Many suggest taking away guns and promoting peace through government help while others think that the guns are what keep them safe. Situations arise everyday where people have witnessed, or know someone who has been effected by gun violence

Gun murder is a serious issue, 40,000 people are either killed or injured from gun violence each year. Legislators and gun violence advocates put forth solutions to decrease gun violence, some want more gun control, others want less. Suburban areas stayed out of the spotlight, which helped keep the fear of school violence to a minimum and brush under the rug the violence. In non-suburban areas the majority were experiencing gun violence which led to fear in many peoples eyes. The typical schoolyard fights had turned into murders and much

The attention surrounding the misuse of guns and how people are using them to slaughter other innocent individuals is at an all time high. This specific issue needs to be put on hold. How can we as a society tell our children when they grow up that they need to start wearing bullet proof jackets under their clothes in order to protect them from harm. The National Government needs to look into our second amendment and realize that we are in an era where it only takes one man or woman to perpetrate

AK 47 rifles are among many deadly weapons used in many of the video games today that are played among young children at home. I know I sometimes wonder what is happening to our youth today. With so much gun violence especially in the community where there are disadvantaged children. Who do us blame and what contributes to the way how they think? I believe the media, which includes music, television, and video games do impact their behavior and actions. Some games do have educational content yet
