Microscopic examination
The analysis of minute organisms, cellular organization of any biological structure, and composition of body fluids with the help of a microscope is known as microscopic examination. The magnification of specimens or samples under study helps in attaining a clearer picture of it.
Gram Staining
Named after Hans Christian Gram, a Danish bacteriologist, Gram stain is one of the most powerful staining techniques within microbiology. This technique was introduced in 1882 to identify pneumonia-causing organisms. The Gram staining technique uses crystal violet or methylene blue as primary staining colors to distinguish gram-positive from gram-negative organisms. Under a microscope, the gram-positive organisms appear purple-brown, retaining the primary color. Gram-negative organisms appear pink or red as they do not acquire the color of the primary stain.

- Give your response to the following statement: “Eventually, all species become extinct. So it does not reallymatter that the world’s remaining tiger species or atropical forest plant are endangered mostly because ofhuman activities.” Be honest about your reaction, andgive arguments to support your position.Find the flaws within the sentance/s Extinction is the complete disappearance of a species from Earth. A mass extinction is when more than half of all extant species disappear from the fossil record and there have been at least five of them. In order to prevent the extinction current species, some areas of earth are preserved while others are conserved. Conservation seeks to prohibit human activity in an area. Preservation seeks the sustainable use and management of natural resources. An endemic species is only found in one location. A biodiversity hotspot has over 1500 species of endemic insects and 70% of the area has been disturbed. There are 34 biodiversity hotspots on Earth. Many sustainable practices are used in agriculture. Crop rotation is the practice of growing different kinds of crops in the same area in sequenced seasons. Conservation tillage is any method of soil cultivation that completely tills under the soil to prepare for the next crop. Genetically modified crops are…Extinction is a natural phenomenon. It is estimated that 99% of all species that ever lived are now extinct. Why then do we say that we are now experiencing an extinction (loss of biodiversity) crisis? O Humans have greater medical needs than at any other time in history, and many potential medicinal compounds are being lost as plant species become extinct. Scientists have finally identified most of the species on Earth and are thus able to quantify the number of species becoming extinct. Most biodiversity hot spots have been destroyed by recent ecological disasters. The current rate of extinction is high and human activities threaten biodiversity at all levels. Humans are ethically responsible for protecting endangered species.

Include relevant information from the chapter, other sources or life experience that have helped shaped your view of how evolution fits with your faith world view. You're analyzing biodiversity on three islands: Island A, located near the equator with varied elevations; Island B, situated in temperate latitudes and relatively flat; Island C, another equatorial island but with a wide variety of habitats. To test your answers to the first question, you decide to survey the lizard species on the islands. Below is a graphical representation of a survey plot from each island, where icons represents different species and the abundance of each species is tallied in the table below. (note: these surveys may not represent the entire island patterns, so don’t use these to try to answer the first question!) A. What is the alpha diversity on each island? - Nature is declining globally at rates unprecedented in human history – and the rate of species extinctions is accelerating, with grave impacts on people around the world. Biodiversity boosts ecosystem productivity where each species, no matter how small, all have an important role to play. (i) Greater species diversity ensures natural sustainability for all life forms. Discuss. (ii) How can the loss of biodiversity be prevented?CA least tern ENDANGERED ANIMAL is CA least tern questionbases on the bird CA least term Reasons for Endangerment Explain the various factors that have led to this species’ current plight. Expand on these points individually, based on your species’ unique story. Domino Effects As we’ve learned, species are not islands unto themselves; they are integrated with many other organisms in trophic relationships, mutualisms, competition, etc. How is the absence of this species (or its lowered population size) likely to impact the other members of its habitat? (If findings specific to this point are available, please include them – otherwise, I’m asking you to speculate based on what you’ve learned about the biology of this organism.) Conservation Efforts Discuss past, current, and proposed efforts to conserve this species. Are these strategies effective? Are they realistic? What is the outlook for this organism? If sea otters are removed from the kelp forest ecosystem, sea urchins will be able to live and reproduce with no main predator. Whole “herds” of sea urchins have been known to sweep across the ocean floor, gobbling kelp stands at a rate of up to 30 feet per month and leaving barren sea floor in their wake. Once barren, the entire kelp forest ecosystem is destroyed and can no longer support the diversity of life once found there. The EVIDENCE above supports the CLAIM that which animal along the Central California coast is considered a keystone species?
- The Leslie Street Spit is a wild-life rich park peive of land sticking out into the lake. It is attached to the Portlands in Toronto. The Portlands were empty lands allowing wildlife to move through it to the spit, but are currently being developed into high density condo communities and the supporting infrastructure. How might this development affect Biodiversity of land animals on the Spit. (develop your answer and use relevant terminology).
