Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs – These are also called as Non-Narcotics, Non-opioids, and aspirin-like analgesics. These are most commonly are organic acids. These drugs have grouped action of pain killer, antipyretics, and anti-inflammatory.
These drugs do not depress the CNS, and there is no drug abuse and dependency occurs. These are weaker painkillers than opioids.
Action- NSAID acts on the peripheral pain mechanism and on CNS and raised the threshold. It inhibits the PG synthesis.
