Thomas Powell (1809–1887)

Powell, Thomas. An American playwright and author; born in London, Sept. 3, 1809; died in Newark, NJ, Jan. 13, 1887. For many years he was connected with the Frank Leslie publications. Besides two acted plays, ‘True at Last’ and ‘The Shepherd’s Well,’ he published: ‘Florentine Tales’ (1847); ‘Living Authors of England’ (1849); ‘Living Authors of America’ (1850).
