Samuel Reynolds Hole (1819–1904)

Hole, Samuel Reynolds. An English clergyman, lecturer, and author; born Dec. 5, 1819; died on Aug. 27, 1904. He was dean of Rochester from 1887. Among his works are: ‘A Little Tour in Ireland’ (1858), illustrated by John Leech; ‘A Book About Roses’ (1869; 8th ed. 1884); ‘Nice and her Neighbors’ (1881); ‘Memories of Dean Hole’ (1892).
