Peter Frederik Adolph Hammerich (1809–1877)
Hammerich, Peter Frederik Adolph (häm’mer-iċh). A Danish poet, theologian, and historian; born in Copenhagen, 1809; died there, Feb. 9, 1877. During the Danish-German War he was an army chaplain; and after it he was elected to Parliament, and began to write history. As a poet his ‘Hero Songs’ deserve mention.
