Hay, Mary Cecil. A popular English novelist; born at Shrewsbury, 1840?; died in 1886. Among her best works are: ‘Hidden Perils’ (1873); ‘Old Myddleton’s Money’ (1874); ‘The Arundel Motto’ (1877); ‘For Her Dear Sake’ (1880).
